I have used the blue cylinders for years, only recently getting a Terra unit. I am also a homebrewer (beer) and have refilled my cylinders via my 20# tanks for about as long as I’ve been using a SodaStream. For the blue cylinders, I use a hose that has a series of ball-valves on it and a process that you need to follow to ensure filling. Now comes learning the pink cylinders. When I seen this, I thought there is no way this works since the gas needs to transfer in liquid form and my tank does not have a siphon. When I fill the blue ones, I flip the 20# cylinder upside-down with its valve open. With this one, the instructions show you simply connect the pink cylinder horizontally, open the gas value, and it’s supposed to fill. The trick with the blue ones is that you need to fill them slowly or else they engage a mechanism inside the cylinder. The first time I tried, I did exactly as it showed. 4 cylinders went into the freezer before I went to bed. Got up, grabbed the source tank, added gaskets to adapter, attached the adapter to the source tank, then the SS cylinder to the adapter, open the valve, and all it did was fart into the cylinder. Ok, try again. Placed that one back into the freezer, grabbed another, repeated the process again but this time, opened the valve even slower. Same thing, just farted. I haven’t tried again since.I’m leaving the rating at 3 stars right now because I feel it “can” work but the description should provide details for different scenarios and what to expect. When I try again, I will invert the source cylinder and see if that works. It’s going to be tough given there is little area to turn the valve once upside-down but if it works, I’m good and will update the review and will up 1 star. Even if it works, I will probably either add a hose with valves, or find a different adapter that is better suited for an inverted tank. There is no way the product is 5 stars in current state given there are requirements just for the type of tank alone (dip-tube vs no dip-tube).
