I have been wanting to get a soft box like this for a long time, but have not wanted to spend the money. In my opinion, this is a great starter/entry-level soft box and it does the job effectively. If you were looking for a very heavy duty, robust set up this is definitely not the soft box for you. For the prices has a lot of features that I would look for in a more expensive one minus a couple of things. First of all the stand is not very sturdy and if you want to use it outside, a decent breeze will probably blow it over so would be nice if it came with even some cheap stakes. Also, there is no way to operate this other than on or off if you happen to lose the remote so I would suggest putting the remote on a tether or string of some type and get to this if it all possible. You can turn it on and off without remote, but there is no adjustment. You do have to assemble the entire thing yourself, which isn’t really much, but you may have a bit of trouble if you’ve got arthritis in your hands as the cover took a little bit of effort to get on it was eventually secured.

This is a great light for someone who needs to up their product photography game. It’s a good size, incredibly bright, and seems well made relative to the price point. The remote allows the bulb to be dimmed on a 20-step scale, to change color in a fine-grained manner anywhere on the warm-cool continuum, and to be turned on/off. It also has quite a few presets that can be easily swapped between. Light turns on using the last settings used. The remote is high quality and feels solid.Other things I appreciated:• the tripod is well made and sturdy if you tighten the clamps down.• light is BRIGHT• diffuser cover is easy to install• manual on/off switch in addition to remote. Remote requires 2 AAA batteries• hexagon shape was helpful for getting even light on my products• tripod is incredibly adjustable - I was able to get the exact height and angle I wanted.A few things to be aware of:• When first installing the bulb, it has to be screwed into the socket VERY tightly in order to work. Seemed like there was a metal flap that had to be bent into the shape of the lightbulb base. After that the bulb turns on, and subsequent installations seemed normal.• the bulb has to be removed in order to collapse the light to pack it into the carry case. The shade has an umbrella-style opening mechanism that latches around the bulb socket and can’t be collapsed with the bulb installed. Mechanism is easy to use and seems sturdy!• the bulb gets a little hot for an LED, though probably comparable to an incandescent bulb. I don’t expect the light would overheat, but don’t touch the metal fins immediately after turning it off.• carrying case zipper is low quality, treat it gently. But I’d still prefer high quality light, low quality bag, so no complaints.• the mechanism for attaching the light head to the tripod is a little non-standard, and difficult to get it truly tight. It definitely won’t fall off, but might wobble if bumped.• there were no instructions in the box - you have to figure out the setup yourself. It’s straightforward enough, but that was unexpected.Overall I highly recommend this light!

I wasn't sure what to expect at the price point on this, but when I got it and tested it, I was much happier than I expected to be. Everything is solid quality as well as the light itself. If you need a budget light, this is something I would recommend for you!

This is a great light for the money spent. I use it when taking pictures of items to be posted for sale on the internet. I am very happy with it. It does not come with assembly instructions, however.

A lot to unpack here so get ready. For starters this is the cheapest tripod i have ever seen. One of the screws were dislodged on arrival, meaning the main rod that holds up the light is loose. The tripod itself can't even support its own weight after tightening some tension screw all the way.The actual light itself flickers for some reason, as part of a setting. and i cant figure out how to turn it off to be a solid light on the remote as the whole package came with no booklet. The hardware on the lamp is counter-intuitive. The place you screw it into the tripod rod makes no sense and the twistknob part came off of the threaded rod, so i had to superglue it just to actually unscrew the rod.I've spent the last half hour just trying to figure this thing out and all i see is scrap metal in front of me. IT IS WORTHLESS. i could make something better with a $20 tripod from target with a lightbulb, aluminum foil and an umbrella.
