Having been a welder for 50+ years, and now retired, i had already accumulated several full-face industrial type welding masks. Very unlike this one. This is like a half-mask, which is what i really wanted. Light and easy to take off and on, and the shade works great. I wish i'd bought one earlier. Plus you get an excellent electronic shade included. Amazing.A great deal.PS Obviously, this is only good for the light welding applications, like home hobby welding applications. It is NOT for very high amperage welding, like industrial welding. You could get IR and UV burns in those high heat applications on any exposed areas, like ears, etc.This seems obvious, but i thought i'd better say it anyway because you just never know... ;-)
