We ordered this solar plant waterer to help maintain our outdoor plants. We love the way that you can customize the plant watering program and can set the unit for worry free operation. We love the fact that it is solar and uses the power of the sun and does not add to our electric bill each month. Also, if you have issues getting enough sunlight to keep the batteries charged, the unit can also be charged via a standard USB/C cable. (Not as nice as pure solar, but a nice feature nonetheless). The unit has built-in anti-siphon and adjustable dripper heads. So far, the unit is performing as described. We like it and we give it five stars.

I didn't use the full amount of line provided, but I noticed for my 2x2ft bed, water wasn't flowing as strongly at the end. I also noticed water dripping from multiple areas, sometimes connection points but sometimes at the top of an emitter. The instructions weren't particularly helpful, so it's possible I set the system up inefficiently. While you can program this waterer, you can't set a specific time. So the time of when you set it up to water the first time will be when it waters each day. I think as a starter set this is okay, but there are definitely better options.

I ordered the automatic plant waterer without solar. So far I'm very happy with this product except for the fact it isn't quite as great as was promised. I noticed that the internal battery does not last quite as long as is promised, and water delivery is a little less than promised. This is not a big deal because you're going to want to set it up and test it before you leave it alone to water your plants. Also, I do not suggest setting this up as a single long run, but use multiple tees to give this waterer "many arms". The reason for this is that if you use one long run, your plants at the end of the run are going to be getting less water than the plants toward the beginning. I'd also like to mention that the dripper is a great way to go for watering, as there is a lot less evaporation this way and the roots get what they need. I feel that this is a good value for the price (as of April 1, 2025), so if you have some plants in smaller pots that you need to water while you're not present, this is a good way to go.

I have a few plants that are quite thirsty and need constant moist soil. As a busy mom, I sometimes forget to go out and water them. This has really helped with that. I plug mine into the solar panel so it is constantly powered. I have a bucket of water and have it set up for every other day. The bucket of water will last about 3 watering times before I need to refill it, but that usually brings me to the weekend where I'll remember. I have never used anything like this before, or had any experience with drip so it took me a bit of time to figure out how to setup the whole drip line. The instructions do not give you anything, only how to setup the timer. I had to go back to the listing and look at the pictures and eventually figured out that I need to cut the tubing and attach each end to the dripper or connector. The dripper is configurable to how much water your specific plant needs which is great since I have more that need more than others. I have checked on it periodically and it seems to water it just fine. The soil appears to be moist and my plants are doing just fine. Overall, interesting concept, you can set and forget for about a week if you have a big enough bucket. I leave it plugged into the solar panel so I don't need to worry about it.

Instructions need to be more informative on programming the timer.

My husband always jokes that I shouldn't be allowed to have plants because I keep killing them! My problem is that I forget to water them, then I drown them with too much water. I figured it couldn't hurt to give this a try. We live in New England where it's cold most of the year, so my plants are mostly spread out between 3 southern-facing windows in our living room. The device came with a partial charge already, but I plugged it in with the USB-C cable that was provided (I didn't get the one with the solar panel). The unit is simple - literally 3 buttons - and little plugs on the side where you connect the tubing. It feels kind of cheap, but it's been working fine so far. The setup took a while because I kept tweaking how much water each plant needed and the frequency. I also didn't find the user manual to be overly helpful. There were instructions on using the device, but nothing about setting up the tubes and adapters. Fortunately, there were better instructions listed on the site. It includes two types of tubing (rubber and PVC) and they come in a roll, so you just cut off however much you need.Once I finally had it up and running, it was easy after that. There's a built-in alarm that buzzes when the water starts getting low, which I really appreciate. I've also used the manual watering mode. All you have to do is press the on/off button to start and stop the water. I've gone away for the weekend a couple times but have yet to try this out on any long trips. I'll definitely update if I run into any issues.
