I purchased these as surprise for people I work with because we were working during the eclipse. They were fantastic, and I could not be more thrilled that so many of us got to step outside for a little bit and look at the amazingness of the universe.!

These glasses were sturdy and effective for viewing the eclipse. It was also recommended to use them for viewing the solar flares.

I laughed my butt off when I read these negative reviews stating that it "blocks too much light" so "light blocking is too heavy so it's bad" "it's too dark it's like a blind fold"... THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT LOL! Cmon people, do some research! These things work exactly how it's supposed to work! When you put on your eclipse glasses, you're not supposed to see ANYTHING But pitch black! Its purposely pitch black!!!It's so our eyes can be protected when looking at the sun! That's how I know these things are the real deal! The only use for these glasses are to look directly at the sun, so you can see some sort of little light! It supposed to block the rest!! They are intended to be used only to look at the sun. So obviously don't use these if you're going to do anything else but look at the sun (don't use these as cool sunglasses while driving or walking) ! When I looked up to the sun with the glasses on I can only see a tiny light circle, exactly what it's supposed to look like.

Not sure how others worked but these blocked all light except the direct sun and shadow from moon. Would be nice if they had some that would allow for a little more detail. I was able to seen some videos from friends w different lenses that seemed a little more detail. Still accomplished my reason for purchase for good price.
