This fan works quite well once you get it securely mounted. It is much larger than I expected and does a nice job of pulling heat out of an otherwise hot area. I was thinking I would use this on my poly greenhouse, but it needs a wooden base to screw into, so instead I ended up using this in my chicken coop to pull the dust and heat out of the top of the coop in our hot, humid climate.I really like the solar feature as we don't currently have power out to this area, and the panel does not need more than a couple of hours of sun, or several hours of bright light (cloudy daylight) to be powered for the night. Nights in our climate do not cool off here in summer and this is a great solution for cooling the hot-blooded birds. I might be putting another one of these in our hay shed, since the hay produces its own heat.I like this fan, just be aware of the mounting requirements (and don't trust the photos in this listing). it's not like the fans that greenhouse manufacturers sell that mount directly in the plastic panels, it needs something to screen into.

It's disingenuous of the seller to picture this on clear plastic greenhouses - the poorly photoshopped photos don't provide a realistic representation of how the fan can be installed. I have a Palram greenhouse with clear, thin plastic panels and was expecting the two halves of this fan to sandwich the panels, but the back panel of the fan needs to be screwed into a solid wall from the inside and the front cover just clips onto it. Since it mounts from the inside, you'll be leaving a gap to the exposed hole in your siding that will need to be caulked. And I'm not sure what value the ring really provides since it just slides on and doesn't lock into anything, plus it still leaves gaps for water intrusion. My final gripe about the mechanical design is that there's no built-in path for the power cable so you'll need to find way to route it inside.

I haven’t actually installed this in the glass/screen room yet, but I did put it out in the sun for a test. It is powerful in full sun and will do the job of drawing in cooler air. I am hoping to use this instead of a fan in the doorway. It certainly will help at night, when leaving the door open is not a good idea. The best thing for my application is the AC adapter for night running. I looked around at prices and it is very competitively priced. Compared to other panels, you’re basically getting the fan for free.

Solar panel and fan seem to be ok so far - issues are: 1) The bracket for the solar panel is the wrong size, it's about 1/2" too short - so I have to bend it outwards to get it screwed in, but that makes the flat part of the bracket curved - so I can't mount it to a flat surface.... seeing if I can do something myself to get it mounted. 2) There is something rattling inside the fan housing itself.. I took off the outer shell but it's further inside. Once the fan is running the rattle goes away I assume to just centrifugal force - but that means something broke and how knows how long it's going to last.OK - just talked myself into getting a replacement...

This exhaust fan really moves the air. I have a couple different brands of these and this one is by far the most powerful.I like the damper system that automatically closes when the unit isn't running. The fan uses a standard DC plug from the solar panel to the fan and also uses heavier wiring than many of small solar powered products. They include a DC 110 volt power supply that can be used if you want to run it when there was no sun. And there is an inline switch allowing you to turn it on and off as well.Overall, this is a good product at a reasonable price and I would recommend it.

Keeps the shop air fresh while running the wood burner. I use this to bring in fresh air into the shop while running the wood burner. I have it right behind the unit so any cold air moves right over the stove and heats up. Ensures I get fresh oxygen in the shop when I have had a fire going all day. Runs for quite a few hours on just a day in the sunshine. Don't have to worry about powering it or running extra outlets.

Mine did not come with the housing circle. Not a big deal since it still works without it. The quality seems a bit lacking because of the flimsy shell. At times, it makes rattling noises depending on how it is positioned. The whole thing sort of vibrates and so if it is attached to something flimsy, it may cause it to rattle as well. The solar panel seems to work well enough to power the fan. Depending how much Sun it gets, the fan seems to be weaker than being powered by the grid. The airflow seems to be good enough as well. Overall, it is better than nothing, but the quality of the fan casing seems to be low in my opinion. The front cover snaps on and off without tools. The stand for the solar seems to be a bit wider than the panel. When installed, it bows a little. Maybe I need to install washers with it.

Great product for making a permanent exhaust fan. Area, or even for a temporary exhaust fan area. Overall installation is easy battery. Life is great. The product has a good durability to it. Easy airflow in good power. When using the product
