We have Mesquite trees surrounding our pool so there is always something dropping in it. Some of the debris is a very fine almost powdery stuff. This gadget does the job of catching all of it splendidly! The basket is a very fine mesh so it catches and holds all that floating stuff. I’m hoping it lasts and keeps doing its job. Only had it for a couple weeks but so far it’s working well.

Swimming dog creates a film of dog hair. This little solar powered skimmer makes short work of clearing the hair and all other types of debris. I can only rave about Vidapool customer service. I emailed them on a Sunday with a question. First thing Monday morning I had a reply and answer to my question. I never had a customer service department answer any quicker than that. I highly recommend the Vidapool skimmer

This little guy works really well. Have only had it for three days and while the instructions are somewhat lacking, it cleans the top of my 18 x 36 in ground pool in a couple hours. It wasn't clear initially but trying to operate it by the remote isn't really necessary. Put it in the pool and let it fly!

Not a good product if you live in an area that is windy. Also keeps getting stuck on my pool sweeper hose.

Liked the basket on this and it looked great from the reviews and description. However, very poor design because shuts down every night after the charge wears then you have to go out and MANUALLY turn it back on every day once it recharges. Defeats the point of being convenient. Isn’t helpful if you are on vacation, you’ll come home to a dirty pool. Other brands are set it and forget it, by running automatically after recharging and you only have to clean the basket every couple of days. Maybe we just got spoiled from not having to do anything for 3 years with our last solar skimmer. But not liking this machine and will now have to purchase a different brand.

I received this today and set it to work straight away. Set up is almost zero work (but battery in the optional remote control and let it sit in the sun to charge up).It feels like a quality item. Quite large and well built. It maneuvers around the pool nicely (although it was windy when I first put it in the pool and didn't seem to be battling the wind that well) and cleans up the surface flotsam with ease.It has a 3 year guarantee (win!) and is much cheaper than the industry leader (win again).So far so good and it is doing a nice job cleaning ups the maple tree helicopter seeds (so so many of them!).
