When I saw these lights, I thought: what a great Idea. However, after receiving them and really studying them, now I'm not so sure. These mount to the roof of your cab with adhesive tape, which is ok. Who wants to drill holes in a new truck? The issue I've run into is that my cab surface is rounded and the light is flat. Therefore, I've had to set the back from the edge of my windshield a little further than what seems correct as you can see in the pics. If you look at the pics you may feel like the placement is ok. If so, then these lights may work out for you. For me these are all about aesthetic appeal. I think most people won't even notice. If I had a nice thick rubber gasket I could place these wherever I want, but I do not. So, this is something one has to consider. If these come on after sundown, won't they be on all night siting in my driveway? Well, there is a motion detector switch as well as the dusk to dawn switch. They're supposed to come on in response to the motion or vibration of your vehicle. The last thing I want is someone knocking on my door at 3am trying to tell me my truck lights are on. They do shut off when there is an absence of vibration. However, if the wind blows really hard or if it rains really hard the light will turn on when your vehicle is sitting in the driveway. Still, they will shut off automatically. There are other solar lights on the market that look more sleek and less bulky. On my truck, I kind of like the big bulky look. It allows for them to be seen at a distance. I just have to decide if I'm ok with the placement. Or make my own rubber gasket to ensure the seal is there and that they look good. The lights are bright enough to be seen like the should be as markers. However, they don't put out any kind of light that would illuminate anything of usefulness. While these lights are white, I think I would like amber better. I feel like amber is more appropriate for cab roof markers and they would match my amber grill lights. For now white is fine. You can space these out evenly or like I have done, i.e., one, three, and one.The dark smoke lens looks great, in my opinion.Overall, I'm satisfied with these cab lights. They look good and work well at night. And with the motion switch, they won't stay on while my truck is parked during the night. The large size and smoked lens make them look more intimidating, which adds to the aesthetic appeal of my truck, in my opinion. My only concern with these lights is if I can't create a good seal on the bottom, they will lose adhesion and fall off somewhere or fly off when heading down the highway. Nevertheless, I still recommend these solar cab lights.

These work very well on flat surfaces. The bottom or base is flat and comes with a double stick tape to adhere it to any smooth surface. The only problem that I have is that I have to come up with a way where I can stick it on the top front of the cab which is normally a curved or rounded surface. If the top of my cab was flat, then installation would be easy. Other than that, it's works very well taking in solar power to power them up. There is a switch for every single light in this set. The switch is pretty solid and will click turning on and off easily. The housing is pretty much water resistant and will take a good amount of weathering for water to penetrate it. The housing is also made out of an ABS polymer that can withstand UV rays. As for the brightness of the lights, they're pretty good considering the size of it. Overall, this is a nice set of lights that's solar powered. I wish there was a way to modify the base of it to accommodate curved surfaces, but I'll have to figure out how to create some sort of rack for these. Is it worth it? It could be if you have a flat-topped cab.

TL;DR: These lights are okay, but they're a bit too big and I'm not sure how they work. I ended up not putting them on my truck.I was hoping these solar cab roof lights would be a quick and easy upgrade for my truck, but I'm a little disappointed. The main issue is the size. They're larger than I expected, and when I held them up to my cab, they just looked too bulky. My F150 roof has a bit of a curve, and these lights are pretty flat, so they didn't sit well. I can see how this could be a problem for other truck owners too. They do seem to be made well enough. They feel solid, and the fact that they're solar-powered and wireless is a cool idea. No drilling is definitely a plus. However, I'm a bit confused about how they actually turn on. I get that they're supposed to come on at dusk, but I'm not clear on the motion/vibration thing.Overall, I think these lights could be decent for some vehicles, maybe vans or RVs, as the product description suggests. But if you have a truck, especially with a curved roof, you might want to consider something smaller. For me, they just didn't work out.

Interesting packaging. This set of 5 lights is packaged like you would find in a convenient store end cap or counter. They are all individually packaged, so could be sold that way, but came all in a larger box. No instructions inside either. You just get a light and a double-sided pad each. Easy enough, I guess. The lights don't seem to be all that bright either, so we'll see how it looks in the long run. But I cleaned my van top where these are installed so they have a smooth clean surface to adhere to. Now I have them sitting out in the heat to hopefully really settle in. As for sensitivity, they seem to do pretty well in that regard. And since they only really turn on when it's dark, nothing gets wasted. For now, they aren't all that bad. The real test will actually be tomorrow on a 6 hour drive, then I'll be off to work for midnight shift. Here's hoping they all stay on. So, whenever this review posts, I'll keep you updated if they manage to stay on.EDIT: good and not so good? Good, they all stayed on during that long drive. If you have a rather quiet vehicle, the lights won't all be on. I'd imagine if you're rolling along the highway, that's enough to trigger them to stay on. Had a long rainfall too, and the rain was able to activate the lights on the parked car. I'd also imagine high winds could as well? Still good, and I like having the dad van look different enough for my children to spot.
