The wood was smooth, not just the flat areas but within the cutouts as well. They must keep their cutters sharp. The detail could be a bit deeper but they match well enough with others I have in the house so they're keepers.

These rosettes were ordered for a recent remodel. They fit beautifully into the custom moulding that they were used with. They were well-made from red oak and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to order them again when the need comes up.
