For an “ancient” machine it seems to work just fine when transcribing tapes for “old” attorneys who refuse to upgrade any office equipment. EBS seems like a great source for older model equipment. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the earphones that came with it didn’t even last 2 weeks; everything else is great.

This machine arrived virtually overnight. It was beautifully packaged to insure there would be no damage in transit. At this point it works without a hitch, but ask me again after I've transcribed 50 tapes of a 20-year-old philosophy course.

The transcriber I purchased was delivered before I expected, which I was happy about. The product was well packaged with all of the parts included, even the new headphones. It was clean and worked flawlessly. I am totally satisfied with this vendor and would recommend them to anyone.

I ordered this as a backup because I have people borrowing it from me all the time. Everyone wants to buy it from me, but they don't want to pay what I paid for it even though I told them it's available via Amazon.

For used equipment, this is in excellent condition. I always thought Sony made the best transcriber. You can rewind the tape, which you can't do on digital unless you go to the beginning of a file. It has a speed control button, so if someone is talking too fast, you can slow them down.

This is a beautiful machine that I was totally unable to purchase in any of the stores here in Southern California. They all sell only themicro cassette transcribers, which I do not like at all. I dearly love my Sony transcriber, and highly recommend it to anyone who transcribes from regular cassette tapes, as I do. Also, you cannot beat the price!
