For my purposes, it was great. I needed a travel vlog lens that was versatile enough to zoom in. This is a very affordable lens and is extremely light. One of the lightest lenses out there. The image quality is super good, it's not going to give you this creamier look that a prime lens would get you but for the lighter weight especially if you're traveling it's worth it! I've added an image that I took with my camera and this is without any editing. It is not great for portraits, but for travel and landscape, this is a good lens. It also does fish eye a bit on a wider focal length.

The bubble wrap and paper that this lens were shipped in reek of mold and there are visible black spots all over the paper. Absolutely disgusting.

Got this lens due to how compact it appears but it needs to be pretty much fully extended to be used. 28-60 focal length are about the same extension of the lens

Honestly super impressed. It's the worlds smallest and lightest 35mm zoom lens and optically it's quite good, even on 61mp sensor. AF is bananas fast. It's mostly a daytime lens but somehow I even got usable shots of major city out of a window of a commercial airline @ ISO 12K -1/30sec so basically it can do anything. When you consider that APSC mode gives you 90mm, this lens can kinda cover almost everything, great for video too. New favorite lens and I own almost 20 Emount lenses including some very high end ones. Secret weapon!

I am a wedding photographer and have tried many lenses and cameras just to give an idea of where this opinion is coming from. Sony is my system for work (a7iii/iv) and I have an a7c for family and personal stuff. I bought my a7c a year ago without this kit lens but then decided I actually wanted it just to have a lens that I could not really worry about damaging and also have a versatile range. And I bought this lens RENEWED from amazon.Lens came in like-new condition, at least I couldn’t really see any flaws or damage. Autofocus is snappy. Images are sharp and render fairly well, not as great as my gmaster or sigma lenses but the overall quality is fine for me as a family/daily walk around. If you are looking at this for the same purpose as I listed, definitely get it. If you are looking for something with top-not image quality, look elsewhere. You can get a cheap tamron 35mm f2.8 prime for less than this that will give you better image quality (I own this as well). But if you just want the versatile range and have fun shooting, definitely get it.

I’m in awe! I have used G-master and Sigma lenses. This is a great little travel lens. I will use it during the day, rather than at night. First, the price is outstanding. I tried getting this at a camera store used, and they wanted a little less than $500. The lens is great for the price. Second, the bokeh matches my sigma 16 mm. Mind you, that is an APS-C lens. I’m using this lens on the Sony a7c. Lastly, I like the natural look of the lens. It zooms in better than an optical lens. I will be using this for vlogging.

RECOMMENDED FOR:+ existing full-frame sony users looking for a smaller travel lensThis is a review for the Sony FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 Full-Frame Compact Zoom Lens. It gave renewed life to my a7s with the quick autofocus (prior I was using the kit lens that never quite hit focus properly/back focus perhaps out) and was hoping for a lens that would work well on video shoots and as a smaller lens that would travel well for personal use. It's sharp, and the range works well for what I do (if you need a closer shot, just use your "sneaker zoom" and walk up). It is a plastic build, so I'm unsure what to make of its durability in the long term, but it was bought as a stopgap to hold out on a system update for the time being :-P

My aged A7s2 has slow af, is only 12MP, and can't do video really well unless adjustments are made for high depth of field. Even then, it's a kinda soso camera compared to most cameras these days. But it is still a superstar in one area, and that is low light photography. When coupled with this wonderful compact lens, the low light capability makes this camera a great all day easy shooter from dawn till dark. Great for backpacking. While I wish this lens could get down to at least f2.8, even at f4, I can take night photos without issue using the a7s2.The lens works well. With the zoom lens closed, the aperture is stuck at F14, which is a good reminder to twist to turn it on (very different from the f2.8 24-70).it's also hard to believe that this is a full frame lens. I really love that it's not APS-C.The AF works just fine, more than matching the speed of my a7s2.Since I'm not a pro-photography and don't have that great of any eye for composing shots, my photo results are far far from prosumer or pro grade, but to my untrained eye, the lens seems to product photos on par with my old tamron 24-70, which I still own.Without having done a ton of research, I believe this is the only AF, zooming, FE lens that is this compact and light. My A7S2 has gone from a beast of a camera with the f2.8 24-70, to now being an awesome lightweight camera. Add three batteries and a tiny 1lbs ultralight tripod, and I can take this anywhere and have battery power for an entire weekend in the emigrant wilderness, all while staying extremely lightweight.I'll probably get a better camera, maybe an a7r4 for higher resolutions, and just might attach this lens to it on occasion for some jaunts around town.Highly recommend this lens for a lighter experience. You can still get bokeh, though it's not as cool an effect as with the 24-70 f2.8. But still, not that bad.
