This straight sides sourdough starter jar makes it easy to measure the starter's growth, and know when it is ready to use. Comes with a nice spatula too. I like that it had a cloth cover for sitting out onthe counter and a sturdy cover for when I place it in the fridge for weeks at a time when I am not baking. If you are new to sourdough baking, it is not that hard. Do not be fearful, just try it. Sourdough is so much easier to digest and gentler on your stomach.

This is a great jar for sourdough starter. I had just been using regular glasses before and this is a nice upgrade. It’s wider than a regular drinking glass, making it easier to reach the bottom and easier to clean. The little spatula is a good length for reaching the bottom of the jar. The breathable cotton lid is convenient for letting the starter breathe – it’s better than leaving the lid cracked or trying to cover it with a paper towel. The band with days and times on it is a clever way to remember when you last fed the starter and what level it was at. The thermometer sticker is nice too. Sometimes it’ll be in between temperatures and more difficult to read, but it’s a nice bonus feature either way. This is very helpful for keeping sourdough starter.
