I really am enjoying this set. The only things I do not like is the bottom is not completely flat and the band stretched when i ckeaned it so I have to put it over a rubber band to keep on har.

Been using this jar for 6 months.Used the sock top to start the starter, but after it had been established, I use only the metal lid to minimize possible contamination of bad bacteria.Perfect size for a two to four loaf a week family.

This kit is perfect for a bread baking beginner. It comes with everything you need to start the process with making your first sourdough.Editing this review because I am thoroughly impressed by this kit. I've read some of the other reviews. True, it does not come with an already made starter sample, and I'm glad it didn't. This kit is for someone who will find joy in creating their own sourdough starter. If you are looking for a sourdough starter that's already started, then this may not be for you. I would look at local online forums in your area, or contact another baker for an already made starter.I used only the tools provided in this kit, and only followed the step-by-step directions which are included on the outside of the box. I did not have a food scale to begin with, but simply used the suggested measurements, which are also conveniently provided on the outside of the box. I used only all-purpose flour and water and followed the instructions, and my starter was ready to go within a week! It's recommended not to use the starter for baking until about 5-7 days but I could see by the third day, that there was already some activity. So basically, all you truly need is patience, filtered water, all-purpose flour, and some basic measuring tools. In my opinion, this is a great value! The tools are high quality, and it seems that the manufacturer put effort into making this a special kit. I appreciate the quality, and the fun approach that this kit is designed to be. The little quirky notes that are added to the box and jar are cute and unique. One thing to mention is that the provided instagram account was not found, but not a big deal.

Este kit para hacer masa madre vino con todo los utensilios necesarios para empezar a mi propia masa en casa. El frasco de vidrio es grueso y tiene una frase divertida que llama la atención de todas mis visitas. No tengo una balanza de cocina y la bolsa de pan con las conversiones de harina y agua fueron suficientes para que mi sourdough sea todo un éxito. Excelente producto.
