This jar has measurements on the side and comes with a thermometer strip and elastic band to remind you about feeding times. It comes with a spatula and dough scraper. It is just for fermenting the starter not for proofing the dough.

I've been wanting to make sourdough, but I am not a Suzy Homemaker by any means so I knew it was going to be a challenge and I needed an easy and straightforward kit to get started. This checked all the boxes! It's straightforward and simple to use and understand. The glass is thick and I appreciate the measuring thing on the side, it helps so much! This comes with clear and easy directions and all the tools you need to get your sourdough started. Highly recommend!

This kit was very thoughtfully put together. The glass jar is the right size and is a good thick quality. The glass helps prevent sticking and makes it easy to clean and the transparency is a must. The feeder band is practical and a very helpful.The kit has everything you need except the actual starter. BUT it tells you everything you need to know and has all the tools to get you started.

I've been wanting to start making my own sourdough, this kit is perfect for that! They include everything you need (minus the ingredients of course) plus the recipe to use for it. The instructions are clear and well written. They do have another updated recipe on their website and they also have some videos there. They recommend hand washing and cleaning everything and not using the dishwasher. This is a great kit if you're just trying to get your sourdough journey started like i am!

This is a good kit for the starter and has a couple of nice toolsbut I think it's really made for someone with their baking already set up (then again, sourdough can be a little more involved, so it's probably not the beginner bread anyway)So for the person already set up, it doesn't have stuff they probably already have or pref to have the ones they likeWhile this was sent to me for review, I take that job seriously. Getting people the wrong product is wasteful, irresponsible and a hassle for everyone.Not everything I review gets high marks -- BTW, I live in a high sales tax state, review items aren't exactly at-no-cost for me]
