As long as you're someone technologically inclined, this part is pretty easy to swap for a burned out one. No complaints! 5-starsUpdate: failed after 3 months. 3-starsUpdate 2: they expedited a replacement bulb! 5-stars

My projector shipped with a Philips 240W, but the Optoma website calls for Osram (Sylvania) 240W.I called Optoma tech support to ask why this is. They said it's because they recently switched to Osram, but the Philips is fine. And, again, my projector shipped with a Philips.Anyway, if you're confused by all the sellers, and don't know which one to buy, this is the lamp you want for any projector that calls for a BL-FP240E. I've seen a few sellers advertise Osram, but I suspect they're actually selling Philips (or something else), as I didn't see any photos that showed an Osram labeled bulb.SpArc was offering a great price ($55 when I purchased), so I bought two.Factory new. Well packaged. Fast service.*Note - Optoma cautioned me that they don't recommend changing out the bare bulb, but the entire housing because, they said, oil from your fingers can "damage other parts." As oil clearly doesn't damage the housing, what I suspect they meant by this is that if you get oil on the bulb it can explode, sending bits of glass all over the inside of the projector (I've seen this happen). That said, you might want to just handle the lamp by the plastic / rubber base, or maybe use rubber gloves(?). Dunno. Suspect a little common sense goes a long way.If you do get oil on the lamp, one website I saw said you can clean it with rubbing alcohol and a dry, lint-free cloth.
