1.The suspension rope cannot all enter the spare tire winch box, otherwise it may get stuck.
2.The lifting rope will loosen when there is no load, it is recommended to always maintain the load.

This item is very poorly designed. The mounting hole where the bolt goes through is not aligned in the right location. The hole for the pin that attaches the tube for tire tool that turns the device was drilled to the wrong size AND drilled too close. The cable appears to be very cheap as well. The rim would not center up on the piece that holds the tire up. This made it very difficult to get the tire in the proper place. I had to modify all the above to make it work. Would have sent it back but couldn't wait. I will probably buy a different one and change it out as soon as possible!

I had to modify the pin in order to attach the rotating neck to this part. After installation, I attempted to raise the spare tire only to discover that it's extremely stiff and hard to turn. This is nothing like the original, I'm probably gonna go with OEM.

2003 Chevy conversion van. Spare tire hoist rusted and would not release the tire. Had to cut and grind it off. This replacement is an exact fit and so easy to install. And it doesn't have the flawed GM safety latch that is the real problem. Great Product. Great price.
