I have a big block dodge power wagon that I wanted to put a 383 pie pan on top of the Mopar air cleaner. Most all the air cleaners were too tall to add a couple inches for the pie plan and center nut. This was perfect as dropped the height several inches so I did not even need the extra long carb stud I ordered. Very cheap solution
