My Pomeranian is a great dog, but the barking can be a problem. When he gets excited (getting ready to walk out the door for a walk, someone at the door, etc.), he goes into a non stop barking loop. No matter what I do or say, he does not stop.I tried several bark collars made for small dogs. Before trying a "shocking" version, I tried it on myself first. It didn't hurt, but there is no way I would want to shock my 10 pound dog like that. So a shocking option was off the table.Moving to this one, it was my favorite. With that said, I don't think it would work well with all dog types - but perfect for the smaller "high anxiety" breeds like Pomeranian, Chihuahua, etc. I say this because these breeds don't enjoy noises and vibrations.I also like the collar size. As you can see in my picture, it almost looks like a normal collar. Very compact and light, and does not bother my dog (except when he barks).The display is bright and colorful, buttons are waterproof, and the collar can be charged with the included wireless charging cable. I wish it had a standard USB C connection, because I can see myself misplacing the cord. But the wireless charging feature is nice.The buttons allow you to select vibration only, sound only, or a combination of both. You can also set the sensitivity and strength as well.Testing it out, I put it on my dog before going on a walk. As expected, he barked and the beep/vibration turned on. He flipped around and looked confused, and proceeded to bark more. Each time continuous barking is detected, the beep and vibration level increases. My dog caught on within a few minutes, and the barking decreased by about 50%. Each time we go out, I start with the collar on. Each time he barks less and less.We know when our dog will be in a situation where he will bark a lot, and put on this collar. He knows what the collar does, and does not enjoy it. So it will be a great (humane) way to keep him quiet in public! I am happy with the results so far.

But for small or sensitive dogs, I think this could be a gentle and effective solution. The collar is compact, easy to adjust, and comes with useful features like dual detection to prevent false triggers, and a magnetic charger that makes setup a breeze.Final ThoughtsWhile it didnât work for my needs, I still think this is a well-made, humane training collarâespecially if youâre looking to curb barking or communicate with a smaller or deaf dog. Honestly, it was tough for me to figure out how many stars to give for this one. My beagles bark whenever another dog barks, if someone walks past the house, if my neighbor across the street pulls into their driveway, you get the picture.This one went on my girl. She's 24 pounds and I like that this unit is smaller than some. Where I'm not so happy with it is the collar. For some reason the excess collar part goes between her skin and the main part of the collar and it doesn't stay as adjusted. So I can see if my 36 pound Beagle mix grabs at her collar, he could actually pull it off.Other than that, it works as needed. I haven't had it on her long enough to see how long the battery lasts, but most of these last a week or so. Price isn't the cheapest I've purchased, but certainly not the most expensive and since I like the size, I'd say it's a good value.

Perfection! I have two chihuahuas and we already had a anti-bark collar for our girl, and needed one for our boy. They are both pretty small (7lbs and 10lbs) and the collar we have for her is supposed to be for small dogs, but is still pretty bulky. Our boy is smaller and it would have just been too big. I am really impressed with the compact size.I only have it on level 3 sensitivity, and he's been quiet all day. He normally nuisance barks at our Goldens, but today he got maybe two corrections.As an vet tech and an experienced dog owner, I was skeptical that vibration only would be enough to deter barking. But it works!! Our home is much more peaceful without the Chihuahuas overreacting everytime the Goldens come in from their bathroom breaks (like they have never seen them before in their lives).
