Still don't know what iy does but the stock one ripped and had balls everywhere which clogged up my condenser. It installed good.

The metal cap that came with this product wouldn't fit in my 03 Corolla (the threads looked the same, but the cap was too large and couldn't be maneuvered into position to be threaded in). So, with that being said, don't throw out the original cap until you know that the new one will fit! Other than that, this was a whole lot easier to put in than the old one was to get out.

I'm not sure how I should gauge this item. I purchased this for my 2004 Toyota Celica. It was shown to be compatible with my vehicle when I made the purchase, however, it was NOT at all compatible. I don't want to crush it in this review, as it isn't necessarily built or packaged poorly. I'm not sure if the manufacturer provided the wrong compatibility information or if the error is Amazon's. I was promptly refunded upon discovering the discrepancy without having to mail the item back. The only problem is that I had the air conditioning system open and I was in the middle of working on it. I had to stop my work, clean myself up, and find one locally. Total drag. I would advise that you look carefully at the photo to make sure it matches yours, or at least check that a local shop has one on hand so you'll have a backup plan.

I got this for a corolla 2005.I had to re-use the cap on the car...I don't know the model this metal cap would work.That being said, the dis-secant itself looks fine, it fit the tube well.. its looks like the OEM as far as I know.

I bought this for my wifes 2004 MDX and took it to my mechanic to be installed. The mechanic installed it with my Denso compressor and it worked like a charm. Great price thru Amazon and way better quality than the ones that Autozone, Pepboys and Oreilly sells.
