This was used for my 98 6.5l diesel. I threw out the sick screen and used ac Delco 1020 for the screen.

This is a 2 hour job with a car lift, 4 hour job without a car hoist.I am a experienced mechanic, and, did this dozens of times while working for a truck shop, and other places.Installation went fine, the fuel sender is different from OEM.It was installed with no issues, fit fine. The fuel sock is also different from OEM, but, was aimed opposite side of float.The wiper and winding for fuel sending differs from OEM.I added fuel 5 gallons at a time. When the tank was about half full of fuel, the gauge jumped to full.I disconnected the wiring harness from gauge, at 1/2 tank, the ohm reading was 90. It should have read 45 ohms.I drained to below half tank, and as I filled, at about 1/2 tank gauge went from 1/2 to full. Right around 44 to 45 ohms, jumped to 90.Amazon had me contact Spectra Performance.Spectra did verified my trouble shooting steps, but, would not assist. They sent me back to Amazon.The free return policy would end October 7th, and, the next shop time available was October 20th.I contacted Spectra again and they would not assist.I wanted Amazon to send a replacement, but, it was no longer available.I would not recommend this company now, they gave very little help.I will have to shop for another fuel sender, which is now more expensive, and have the job done a second for more moneyI will be purchasing the sender from my sponsor, Summit Racing, AC Delco 19423272 Fuel Tank Sending Units it is $40 more, but, what is 4 hours of labor worth?Spectra will not cover Labor for replacing the faulty fuel sender unit.Covering labor on faulty parts is common with most parts company's. NOT Spectra.

Had a bad sending unit and fuel delivery problem on my 6.5 because the old fuel sock was clogged. Replaced the one unit with this one and pulled the sock off the new one and ran an inline filter instead. The only difference I could find is the fuel filler breather is in a slightly different location so the hose routing changes. Would recommend.
