My 1980 GMC c30 was listed as correct part for vehicle . The pickup tube and sock was right at bottom , but at 1/2 level on gauge means empty . Left me stranded . If the potentiometer can't read correct levels for length of the pickup tube itself you know it's a manufacturing flaw , and the correct math hasn't been done before assembly . The vent squirts fuel everywhere when you fill your tank , the check valve built in doesn't sit properly to prevent the fuel from coming out of the vent like it was anticipated . I'm unsatisfied with my purchase , and would recommend finding something that you can return locally even though it cost more .

I checked these sending units with a multimeter right out of the box and they’re not super accurate but they work.

This fit perfectly in my passenger side 20 gallon tank 1985 GMC K10, I actually cut the flare off and clamped on a hardline fitting and installed PTFE hose, fuel gauge worked fine and comes with everything you need, you don't really need the tool to install it, just use a screwdriver and tap with your hand

liked the product but filter would not stay on had to buy a replacement filter lost filter in tank 2 times when installingin tank
