Old one rotted. Junkyards are rotted as well. Save your self some hassle when replacing fuel pump

It only lasted 2-1/2 years and started to leak gasoline because of cracking and splitting at the end next to the gas tank. When I filled my tank, it leaked gas onto my asphalt driveway, thus ruining it. The original GM hose was still good after 20 years and I should have re-installed it when I replaced my gas tank 2-1/2 years ago.

Perfect fit. Looks and feels quality. Does come with new clamps. Update only lasted about a year and started cracking and spliting.
