I've used this product in a couple wood working projects where I wanted to stain some ash wood. It absorbs readily into the ash giving it a nice deep black color but allows the wood grain to show through and still be enjoyed. For this use the product has been great.

I have been using this product to ebonize wood projects. It gives the wood a fantastic dark color. Not to difficult to apply . A good set of gloves is necessary!

I've used it to stain different woods black and never had any issues with it. I always get a very solid black color after one or two applications with light sanding in between.For those interested in using it as a wood stain, its very thin and soaks in to the wood pores without filling them. This means that the wood grain can still be seen and felt especially on soft woods and open grain hard woods. Closed grain woods like maple will be very flat black unless the grain is curly.
