It does not feel worth the money paid for it. I cannot say if it has accuracy and precision with persistence. I just like the dual display as it's used often for HVAC work so reading liquid and suction line temps at same time is desirable.

This. Temperatures devices which can run two .tempraturkesj and once isQuite accurate and over ah period of several months very reliable and accurate. It can be used for eotlhekr F or C. I am not sure if you can override the automatic turn off but this is a slight inconvenience because I use it in my lab all day continuously. It was reasonably priced and is accurate enough for my experiments where + or - 0.1 to 0.2 C is fine. I have never calibrated itaccurately but it is close to the above errors. A good,

I found out about these from a link on the modernist cuisine blog. I looked at the price and the data sheet for it and decided to purchase it. I have had it for almost 5 months now and during that time I have found I use my thermopen more over this. First the unit is not very accurate I even purchased one of the separate thermocouples they sell, 800064, and after spending an hour multiple times calibrating it the unit is still horribly inaccurate. The high temp probe that I ordered conveniently forgot to mention that only the metal tip of the probe was actually high temp, the handle and wires melted within a few minutes after being exposed to 200 degree F temperature. Why you would make a probe that is rated at 900+ degrees F that was attached to a cheap plastic handle that is not rated above 175 degrees F, it does not make much sense. The unit it not accurate and the interface is somewhat cumbersome. Overall save you money and get a different unit.

I do automotive ac repairs and was looking for a dual temp thermometer for taking superheat and subcooling temp readings. I read the reviews on several other manufacturer models, including one that was about $40 cheaper than this one.I decided to purchase this Sper unit based on previous reviews and it was just recently received. The build quality and attention to detail on this meter is excellent. I installed the two included thermocouples and they both are within .1F of each other on various test readings I have made with it.The screen has a protective stick on cover attached that I plan to leave in place even though it appears to be a temporary installtion. This unit is made in Taiwan. Doing a little research on Sper Scientific, they have the reputation of high quality test equipment. This unit was shipped to me directly from Sper Scientific.

This thing works as I would expect it. Sort of expensive, but worth the money if you're planning to use it for everything.

I purchased the Sper 800007 many years ago, and it is still going strong. It does everything as stated, and I can find no downside to the unit after years of use, other than I wish I upgraded to a RS232 version. Even though the unit is built in China (Taiwan actually), the build quality, materials, finish are all top notch, and holding up great. For example by now with most Ivory colored plastic from China, it would be yellowing by now. My unit looks as good today as it did when I received it, and I use it outdoors. If you are looking for a good value, dual channel thermometer, with T1-T2 readings, this is a great unit.

I have used this for well over a year and found it to be a great product. I haven't used the included probe too much, but I think it is great that they included one. I installed a higher temperature thermocouple more or less permanently in my oven, and I plug it into this unit to measure oven temperatures when I roast coffee. The included thermocouple is fairly high-temp (teflon jacket), but my oven has a hot broiler, so I bought a serious high-temp thermocouple (woven-glass jacket) elsewhere.I use another thermocouple probe (with a T-handle) to monitor compost heap temperatures using this unit. For some of the stuff I do, I was worried about the unit turning itself off automatically after a few minutes, but I found that this feature can be temporarily disabled, which is perfect for me.I was worried about the battery life (since a lot of items using 9V batteries have terrible battery life), but it turns out that one battery lasted me for about a year. And this includes one or two times when I left the unit running overnight by accident. (Remember, by default, the unit turns itself off after around 10 minutes... I only had this problem because I disabled that feature.)The only way I can think of to make this unit better would be to add data logging, or have the price come down a bit. That's why I gave it 5 stars.

Used it for my kid's science project where we were measuring the surface temperature to see how efficient heat is spreading from a point source. The instrument is easy to use but I have trouble managing the two long-wire thermocouples; wished they had a more rigid support. I ended up improvise a connector to fix the two thermocouples in place. Otherwise, this instrument works great.
