I am allergic gluten and I need to use a lot of gluten free recipe. I use this grinder to make my own rice flour and oat flour. Took me less than 15 sec to turn 1 cup of dry rice into rice flour. The grind are even and fine. This texture is exactly what I need to make for my bakery. Even the capacity of the cup in much bigger but I found out doing small portion at a time to achieve a better result. The blades are very sharp and the motor seems to be very powerful. It did make a loud noise when operating which I don't really mind. I also did my own black pepper grind and for 3 sec it can turn into coarse texture and addition 5 sec can turn into fine black pepper. The motor feature an overheat protection that turn off to protect itself if I use it for extend period , then it needs to be cool of for 30 mins before it can restart. I never overheat the blender as it only took few sec to finished the job. There are extra replacement blade comes with the package. The machine also very easy to clean. The trick is to try to empty all the power when it is dry, then rinse with soapy water. This is my new favorite kitchen gadget and would recommend it.

This spice grinder was easy to assemble. It has suction cups on the bottom, to try and hold it in place while using. I found it held pretty well while using, but when I went to unscrew the bowl from the base, it did slip some. It's not a big deal, just to let you know.Equipment: It comes with 3 spare blades, which I'm really happy about. I spent a lot of money on my last coffee/spice grinder, and after using it to make a lot of bread crumbs for a large dinner party, it was noticeably duller, so this came at the perfect time for me. Maybe I'll mark the blades and keep one for coffee, bread crumbs, herbs/spices, and nuts. Switching them out is really easy, just hold onto the blade (make sure you choose a spot where you're not holding onto the sharp part of the blade), and turn the nut on the bottom of the bowl. Make sure to turn Clockwise. It's opposite of what you would think. Typical is Lefty loosey, Right Tighty. This is opposite, so that when the grinder is on, it spins clockwise, so it doesn't loosen off with use, it actually gets tighter with each impact with what you're grinding. The bowl is made of stainless steel, which I really like. I had been using the attachment with my immersion blender for grinding nuts and bread crumbs. It's all plastic except for the blade, even the blade holder is plastic. I've had it for almost 30 years now, but the bowl is now frosted from the many scratches, and the plastic Is cracked everywhere and I can't get it perfectly clean anymore. I feel confident about cleaning this new grinder bowl. Also, with the stainless steel bowl, it is easier to clean and less likely to transfer flavours from one use to the next.Noise level: The motor is quite powerful at 500W. Like all coffee grinders though, the combination of high spin speed and powerful motor, it is quite loud on its own. Add hard objects like coffee beans or nuts, it's even louder. It can't be helped.Cleaning: because the blade is so easy to remove, I have been doing that every time to wash it. That way, I can get into all the nooks and crannies, and prevent cross contamination. I don't want my coffee to taste like fenugreek, for example.Grinding: With herbs, just a few quick pulses is all I needed to break down a full bowl. For spices, harder spices like allspice took a few seconds longer than cardamom. But both were pretty easy to grind. For coffee, it depends on the grind size you're looking for. Once you get it, I recommend counting how many seconds, and just doing the same every time. Just a matter of a couple of seconds and the grind will be finer than you want. I've included an AFTER picture of grinding 1C of toasted walnuts. I ran it for 5 secs on Level 1. There were a few larger pieces remaining, but I had to scrape the bottom with a spatula because it was almost like butter. I'll need to try the pulse or less time for the next batch. But also, the next time I want almond butter, I'm planning to use this grinder!Size: The bowl of this grinder is much larger than my old coffee grinder. Which only did 1 serving at a time. This one can do several. And the overall equipment is not too large. I'm finding that I'm using it for so many things, that I've re-arranged my counter to make a permanent space for this.Overall, I am pleased with this grinder and look forward to years of happy cooking with it.

To start, this thing is a powerhouse of a grinder. I'm actually really impressed upon the initial use.We raise meat pigs, and at butcher time, I normally end up making a lot of sausage. We also make a brine that a lot of the pork goes into to add flavor. All of that brining and sausage making requires a lot of spices. I buy my spices in bulk and a lot of them I buy in their natural form, not ground. This keeps them fresher longer and allows me to make batches based off of what I like personally. Normally when we make a brine, we are making it by the 30 gallon tub. I normally use a mortar and pestle because my grinder that I had would take forever, I really didn't grind it up well and the mortar and pestle was far more efficient for the amount that I had to do.I decided to put this through its paces by attempting to grind Baja gold salt. I generally only buy Baja gold or Celtic salt, and it comes in a larger grind than I like. I have purchased a couple of different salt and pepper grinder sets over the years. And I actually got to review one recently. And while they work really well, they also take a long time to grind up the larger chunks. So you end up holding the salt grinder for longer than you would like when you're trying to cook a meal. I figured if I could pop the salt in here, and grind it up a little bit, it'll be less work for my salt grinder and it would come out faster.I put about a cup of salt into the grinder. The blade is already installed when I got it, so that was easy. I lined everything up snapped on the lid, and then lined it up on the base so that I could snap it in place. Turned it on to number two and let it Go for probably between 30 and 60 seconds. Hold it off, and I had what amounted to a cross between a granulated sugar and a powdered sugar consistency Baja gold salt. That is impressive! To grind it that quickly to that final powder. I was really impressed. Because I'm using the other grinder, I didn't worry about running it through the little sister to make sure that I got all the chunks, figured my salt grinder could do the rest if I missed any. But it didn't really feel like I did. When I use the salt grinder after that, it definitely came out faster because it didn't have to work as hard to grind up the bigger chunks. I definitely think this is a very cool use for this grinder. This thing is small. Not as small as my old spice grinder. It's about the size of a mini food processor. If you've ever seen one, they hold about three to four cups worth of food. It's easy to use, like just plug it in add your food, put the lid on correctly, and then line it up so the lock button locks, and go.The consistency of the salt that I ground was wonderful. Exactly what I would have hoped for.I really can't speak to how durable it is yet. I've only had it for very short amount of time. I will definitely be putting it through its paces when we butcher our pig. He is around 400 lb and is supposed to be being butchered in the next couple of weeks. I will probably be processing a couple of pounds of spices during that time. And when I'm done with that, I will update the review.

I love making spice blends, like my own seasoned salt because I can customize to my family’s taste. I previously used a small Ninja to blend everything together about a cup of the blend at the time, but it was actually too big for the job. I have a small electric coffee grinder, but I don’t like to use it for anything but coffee so I don’t get fresh ground onion flavored coffee. This electric spice grinder set is just the right size to blend my seasoned salt mix to just the right fineness. I just measure all the dried spices into the stainless steel bowl and pulse it a few times for the perfect texture. I store the mix in an airtight container with a food safe moisture absorber and it lasts for months. Clean up is super easy too. I just wash the blender pitcher & top in warm soapy water & rinse. Wipe it dry and then let it air dry to get every last bit of moisture out of it. It also comes with a handy little brush that is perfect for cleaning around the blades in the bottom of the blender pitcher. Be careful though because those blades are sharp. Make sure you don’t get the blender motor base wet because it will damage it. I just wipe it with a damp soapy cloth and then follow with a damp water only cloth to remove the soap. This is a nicely designed little grinder. The motor base has 4 little suction cups on the bottom so the grinder doesn’t dance around on the counter while you are using it. Another nice feature is that the clear plastic top allows you to see the texture of what you are making as you are grinding it. The stainless steel construction of the machine not only looks good, it is easy to clean and also doesn’t transfer flavors from one use to the next. The dial control is easier to operate than push buttons to me. There is also a very fine mesh little strainer basket you can use to sift out larger pieces of dry ingredients & either discard or grind them more. The only issue I have with this grinder is that I have not been able to find any instructions on how to change out the blades. It came with 3 replacement blades, but I am not sure how to remove & reinstall them. It has a little manual included, but does not address this issue at all. Since this is kind of a generic brand, I have not been able to find a video or tutorial online either. Otherwise, this is a great little grinder that is perfect for my needs. It also makes great hummus too!
