Even with my wire cutters it’s hard to cut, but I guess I could have crappy ones. The tips to cap the boning are very hard to tighten and fall off even if I crimp them with as much force I can muster from pliers. There aren’t enough tips in the bag too for how much boning

I am a home sewer who finds it easier to make evening wear/prom dresses for my daughter as she is tall and slim and ready to wear always involves some degree of alteration. I used a nylon boning when I made her strapless prom dress and I wish I had had access to this metal boning then. It is much less obtrusive while providing the same degree of support. It also seems more flexible and does not have the long defined rectangular shape that nylon boning has. This came in a long length which I could cut to whatever lengths I desired, and also provided were metal caps to put on either end of the cut length so that the metal boning would not poke through the seams and tear the fabric or cause discomfort. I just wish that way more of the metal caps were provided as I can see me running out of them before I use up all the boning. All in all, great purchase, and I would recommend.

I haven’t gotten to the point of using this steel boning in my sewing project yet, but it should work just fine. The boning is strong, but flexible. I flexed and moved the boning in all different directions, mimicking the movement it would have when on the body. It didn’t buckle, bend, or become distorted in any way. The tips for the ends of the boning are nice and will protect the garment from sharp ends. I do wish there were more than the 32 tips included. To use all of the boning in this package and only the included 32 tips, I would get 16 lengths of boning at approximately 2 feet long. I won’t ever need a 2 foot or longer length of boning for any of my projects since I mostly do small projects (bras, etc.), so I’ll have to buy more tips separately.
