This is more convenient to tote around than a large astronomical telescope, and you can see Saturn's rings and moon craters fairly well with it. I am attaching a photo I took with my iPhone using an adapter on the eyepiece of this telescope. There is some chromatic aberration here and the focus is imprecise at high power (the attached photo is at the telescope's max power 75x, with the iPhone at 2x magnification). With that said, it's better than the cheapest astronomical telescopes. But its lens quality is no match for a decent astronomical telescope. So buy it for what it's good at - land spotting and very casual astronomical use where you don't want to tote around a trunk-filling telescope. I am a little disappointed I got it because I wish I had spent about four times as much for better quality optics. But I will continue to use it.

The critical flaw of this spotting scope is that the eyepiece is not adjustable. You can only obtain a full field of view at 25X. You lose field of view (dramatically) as you increase the power towards 75X, as a shorter eye relief is required to see objects at higher magnifications. The only way to see the full field of view at higher magnification, rather than a tiny central portion, is to remove the rubber eyepiece. This is a poor solution as it leaves no way to stabilize the position of your eye relative to the center of the lens. After 10 minutes using the product, I boxed it back up and returned it, wondering if the designer and manufacturer had ever tried to use it themselves!

Update: replacement arrived fast, zoom works great (with a bit of noise). Image is nicely sharp at all zoom points, with minimal shift in focus from 25 to 75x, good contrast looking at daisies from 125 yds, and better than expected depth of field. Focus knob was very smooth and rolled easily by just sliding the edge of my finger across it.Tripod is a bit small but is stable enough for bench, and all metal.Phone adapter is simple enough and stable enough to use with wired trigger but i don't have a phone that accepts wired ear buds, but I do have a selfy stick with a Bluetooth trigger.

The optics is OK for the price I guess. The chromatic aberration is severe, but that is to be expected in this price class as you would probably have to pay more than 10 times the amount for a good lens without it or at least only a little of it. Depth of field is extremely shallow, making it hard to focus the image. Even though the opening is 100mm good light (bright sunshine) is required to get a good picture and to see clearly.Especially at 70x magnification the eye gets too far from the okular to see anything wearing my glasses, so I have to take them off.The tripod is extremely flimsy and not up for the task of holding the tube steady. If you are not wearing glasses and mount this on a proper tripod you have an OK tube given the price if you use it for bird spotting or looking at the target at a shooting range. Not useable for photo.

This past year we got to camp a few different rustic and nature heavy spots. Sometimes you forget how relaxing it is to be the visitor and just spectate nature. This scope helped give some better appreciation for the more delicate parts of nature we tend to take for granted and just plain overlook.Birds, butterflies, and assorted flower swarming insects were all on the "natureflix" live stream we set up. Corny? Maybe.. but it worked. The kids loved it and got engaged with nature from a distance. Each time we dialed in on a new "program" they were tasked with observing and documenting their findings.Definitely looking forward to dragging this along our next season of "natureflix" 😎

Junk product, not worth $160, the accessories that came with the product don't work at all, the tripod for the telescope is too flimsy, the box of the product is lost and cannot be returned

This is an excellent spotting scope for the price. It's well constructed and sturdy. Good for bird and animal watching from a distance. Get a good lightweight full size tripod for it and you'll be good to go.

We received the KEXWAXX Spotting Scopes 100MM 25-75X HD Monocular Telescope for Bird Watching & Hunting & Target Shooting with Tripod, Phone Adapter, Carrying Bag in exchange for this review. We originally got this spotting scope for use on the archery range (My daughter and I are affiliated with a competitive archery team through our local GS council) In its usual use we found this scope to be well suited, providing a crisp distortion-free view of the target. Please note, though, that for field use, it is far better attached to a larger free-standing tripod (Like one used for larger telescopes or an SLR camera) instead of the small tabletop style tripod provided with the scope.I particularly like that the included carrying/protective case is designed to permit you to mount the scope onto any tripod and actually use all the features of the scope without ever needing to remove the case. Now, out of curiosity, we decided one night to see if this scope could be used for light stargazing. We found it could greatly enhance our view of the moon, as expected, since it is so large to start with, but we were also very pleasantly surprised to see that we could actually see Saturn as a ball with rings around it, and Jupiter clearly had colors swathed around it and a red spot! This was STILL rather tiny for each of these features, but they were clearly NOT just pinpoints of light like all the stars were. I imagine this was pretty much what Galileo saw when he first started identifying other planets! So it could be useful for this if you wanted to see things up in the night sky. (Will gladly try it out for the next comet that comes our way!)
