Replaced a pedistal with a broken base. Hasnt changed in 30 years. Works as well as the original did before it froze in.

The plastic bushing that fits inside the cylinder is flimsy and too short. When my husband leaned back to reel in his catch, he fell backwards because the flanges on the bushing collapsed releasing the bushing out of the cylinder and the attached seat. Needless to say, he lost his catch! Might be OK for just sitting and relaxing but not for fishing.

This is the same brand that came with my boat. The plastic insert at the top of the post where the seat spindle goes in is junk. It just flops around inside the post and can't use the seat. The ones that came with my boat (15 years ago) had a solid insert at the top. Now I will have to figure out a way to make it work. The rest of the unit appears to be fine. Would not recommend this to anyone.
