Spyder diamond hole saws are the professional choice for hole-making in tile, glass and masonry materials. Premium boron-coated industrial diamond abrasive self-sharpens for quick cuts and long — up to 20x more holes than standard diamond hole saws and up to 10x faster than standard glass and tile bits. A high temperature nickel braze adheres at temperatures up to 1.5x the temperature of braze used on standard diamond hole saws — increasing diamond abrasive retention and saw life. Heavy-duty, single piece construction and vacuum furnace heat treated high-alloy steel provides a reliable cut and consistent, round holes. These saws can be used wet or dry — water spray or immersion will increase tool life, reduce dust and debris, and will create a more quiet cut. Spyder’s diamond hole saws are for use on ceramic, porcelain, granite, slate, marble, glass, fiber cement board, laminates and more. Made in the USA.

I'm surprised they make diamond bits this small, but this one is very well made. Quality build at a fair price.

I haven't tested it on a bunch of different materials yet, just some light concrete work. I'm not doing anything heavy duty or industrial, just right now I have been using it for home DIY -and it's great because it fits my drill.

Perhaps I am not the best person to judge the longevity of this item. I gave it a three as I wore it out, but maybe I expect too much. The package claims that it drills 20 times more holes and is 10 times faster - ALL OF WHICH MAY BE TRUE. I wore it out doing 4 holes; but that may be a great success. This was a honey-do. My wife bought a couple of large porcelain pots she wanted to put plants in to dress up the garden. But they collected rainwater and mosquitoes, as they did not have drain holes. She asked be to dill holes in them. If you look closely as the lower hole in the middle picture you should see a whole that it gets narrow, as the first time I tried this about a year ago: I used and destroyed a couple of masonry drill bits but could not get all the way through. And yes it did take 10 time longer (more than an hour with a high speed drill I borrowed for the job). It wore me out too. The Spider 5/16ths diamond drill bit was so much better and did the job in about 5 minutes for the first whole and under 8 minutes for the last of four holes. As can be seen in the pictures, the bit is worn out and even has small holes in the business end. I am happy to get the job done, and it did not take long. I wore down two Dewalt 18V batteries.Advice: 1. Wear hearing (and eye) protection - it was loud. 2. I drilled all the holes with a small pool or water. Avoid drilling dry even though the product description says you can. On one of the holes, I did not use enough water and immediately saw some black flecks from the drill.

So far, this thing has been great. Its very durable, the diamonds stay put, cuts super fast and clean, and has a hallow center with a cut out to help extract material. I use water as opposed to using it dry. If you keep things wet, and you keep the speed up, this will work very well for you for quite a while.

The 1/4" hex quick connect arbor made setup a breeze, and the durability of the bit exceeded my expectations. Whether you're working on a DIY project or a professional job, this hole saw bit delivers outstanding results every time. Highly recommended

i used this drill bit on tile for my kitchen. i did put masking tape over the hole that I needed to make which prevented chipping on the surface of the tile. it was easy to use, my cut was clean. i recommend this drill bit so far, but I will come back to comment further once i've tried this on glass.

I just tested this 5/16" masonry drill bit on a piece of ceramic tile, as well as a piece of cement board. I then went back to the ceramic tile piece. Here is what I found:-The first ceramic tile piece I drilled one hole through, no problem-The cement board, I drilled three holes, no problem-Back to the ceramic tile, it seemed to slow down someI let the bit cool, and actually found it did not get as hot as I expected, so that's nice. Upon inspection, it looks like the cutter is worn down some, so I tried the cement board again - same result. It cut clean holes right through. I like the bit, and also like it is made in the USA.I do not do a lot of masonry work, so I will not be putting this bit through the paces, but it will be in my toolbox. Thank you for reading my review.

I used this to drill holes into some of my flower pits that had none. This drilled the holes in no time. This does not have the cooling wax plugs, it does say no water is needed but I feel that it makes the bit last longer if you do. I like that it has the side open slot. I find the sealed ones with the wax plugs, turn the bit into a mess, and the wax and dust combination cakes up. This goes through the pottery with little mess and even less so if you use water. This is a good quality bit, and it is made in the USA to boot. I am happy I ordered it, now I just need this in a few more sizes.
