I did not purchase these brakes but they came stock on my 2021 Cascade peak. Similar to previous Sram brakes I had on my last bike they always (even when new) had a slightly mushy feeling at the levers. On my old bike even after bleeding the issue always remained and I updated to Shimano brakes. Once upgraded to Shimano I NEVER after 2+ years of riding with them had to bleed them or ran into mushy feeling. On my new bike the G2 R's felt a bit mushy from the start but now have started to have inconsistent engagement some times engaging half way to the bar and then the next moment not engaging until the lever is almost at the bar. To FIX the issue I just got some low level Deore BL-MT501/BR-MT500 and I can tell you even though these are "budget" shimano, they have way better at the lever feel, and are just as powerful but have better engagement than G2 R.

Pretty good braking power after increased rotor to 200mm and added this 4 piston caliper. Probably switch to metal pads not a fan of the new ones
