This shifter, along with the appropriate replacement cables, have given my cheap Schwinn cruiser new life! The shifting cable had completely seized up and I was ready to trash the bike. Then I looked at the prices for new bikes. Yikes! For a few bucks and a little elbow grease, my bike shifts better than it did when it was new. Highly recommended!

I double check the picture to make sure that it shifted the same way as mine in the picture on Amazon it’s showed seven at the top and one at the bottom just like other reviewers said, the numbers are backwards. I have not installed it yet I’m sure that I can adapt and get used to having my gearshift in the opposite way but it is not the gearshift in the picture... it is backwards

I have installed the SRAM MRX shifter on a couple Of bikes. When installing it feels lightweight and cheap. That is NOT true. It installs easily and works flawlessly. Light action and positive shifts. It rivals the high end units. A certain amount of bike wrenching experience and tools are needed For proper installation. The hardest part is removing and installing grips. I suggest a YouTube search. I recommend this shifter.

Install pretty easily and shifts nicely. Pretty loud click. Holding up well so far after two hundred miles or so with a lot of shifting. I had a Shimano before and you'll have to adjust the brake handle because it was hitting it but no big deal. Good value and something you can easily do yourself if you know your way around with tools at all.

This shifter was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. It was fairly simple and easy to install. So far it works great--its colder here now so we'll wait till Spring to ride our bikes more-if it quits working sooner than we feel it should I'll update this review.

Update: it turns out I installed it wrong. After I corrected it, it works PERFECT and survived from the extremely cold weather this winter! Changed it to 5 stars!Spend lots of time to install on my poor bike....Hard to say if it it better than the original one. I am not sure whether I installed it right or not, since there is no instruction attached.

Plug and play replacement for the 7 speed shifter that had broken. Installed in 5 minutes and works as expected. The cable was long enough, and fairly easy to cut to length. I would recommend a crimp for the end of the cable because they tend to fray over time.

Am 20Zoll-MTB unserer Tochter war der vorhandene Schalt-Drehgriff von Shimano sehr schwergängig. Sie konnte ihn mit den kleinen Händen kaum betätigen. Daher haben wir ihn ersetzt und diesen montiert. Montage war einfach und das Schalten klappt jetzt problemlos. Gutes Ersatzteil für kleines Geld. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

This is really a five-star piece of equipment given the price/value ratio. I just give it four stars as it is not a top-end shifter. It is a well-designed, but inexpensive shifter. I direct his with a tree branch or pavement would probably break it, but this is the case with most shifters.I was having trouble with my son's rear shifter. He could shift up, but he could not downshift. I replaced and lubed all my cables and their housing (still too hard). I even removed the grip shifter and lubed it with marine grease. That didn't work either.I ordered this rear derailleur shifter and had it installed in minutes. It was very reasonable, but my feeling was that I was not going to spend a lot of money on a bike that went through a previous owner and my older son. This did the trick! Simple directions and it came with cables and housing. It seems like a decent quality items and is holding up to my son's rough treatment.Please try this before donating your bike to goodwill or a landfill!There are few things more satisfying than seeing a child's face light up when he hops on to a well-tuned bike!
