SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS Rear Derailleur
More than a mechanical derailleur with a battery and a motor bolted on, the Eagle AXS derailleur is the heart of the whole AXS system. It features a shorter cage for 10mm more ground clearance, with more chain wrap on the cassette to sit slightly further forward, and further inboard from mechanical Eagle.

The shorter cage design gives an additional 10mm of ground clearance, reducing the risk of derailleur damage on rough terrain. The increased chain wrap on the cassette ensures smoother and more secure chain engagement, minimizing chain drops and improving overall drivetrain performance.

Cage Lock
A feature integrated into SRAM rear derailleurs that simplifies wheel removal and installation, especially on bikes with long cage derailleurs. It’s particularly useful for mountain bikes and bikes with wider-range drivetrains.
- The Cage Lock mechanism allows you to manually release the tension on the derailleur’s cage (the part that holds the jockey wheels)
- With the cage locked and chain tension reduced, removing the rear wheel becomes much easier
- Whether you're replacing a chain, cleaning your drivetrain, or working on the rear derailleur
- You can unlock the cage with a simple press of the lever or button
- SRAM Cage Lock makes the process faster and easier by holding the derailleur in an open, slackened position

Works, but definitely not worth the price of entry. More of a bragging rights part. Stick to mechanical, save money, have just as much fun.

Awesome derailleur. I put a mullet on my gravel bike: SRAM Red eTap brifters up front, 10-50 Eagle XX1 cassette and this Eagle XX1 derailleur in the back. Shifting is crisp and sweet, and that 50t gear climbs walls. I’m using a SRAM Force 1 42t chainring up front, which is designed for an 11 speed but works fine with the 12 speed AXS gruppo. That gives me 22 - 110 gear inches, which covers all the bases. Couldn’t be happier.Update: Turns out I could be happier. SRAM released a new 10-52t cassette and this derailleur works with it. The cassette is model CS-XG-1299-B1.
