Product Description

There isn't a company more dedicated to cycling than SRAM. You can see it in everything they do, from the crisp instant shift of their trigger shifters, or the way the chain glides smoothly and effortlessly across a cassette. Founded in 1987, their philosophy then and now is to simply make cycling better. It's that simple. While their heritage is with providing mountain bikers with the best components on the market, in a few short years SRAM now dominates road racing as well with the top three riders in the Tour de France 2009 all riding on SRAM Red. If you're not part of the revolution yet, the chances are you soon will be.

No instructions, but the diagram on the Amazon page is all you really need.

Super easy install! These springs seem to last about 18-24 months. Your first clue is when the index shift seems a bit weak and less precise when shifting, which means 1 of the 3 springs is broken. When 2 springs break, the derailleur will shift itself on bumps. Three broken springs and your derailleur is like a friction shifter -without any ftriction. The first time they failed on my TT900, I was told by the bike shop that they were out of warranty, and I needed to buy new ones. Which I did, but kept the old ones for parts. The second time, a different bike shop fixed them - for $50! (SRAM makes you go through a bike shop on warranty items or product purchases!). This time, I found a thread on a velomobile forum that showed pics so i gave it a try.5 minutes work, and they are like new, a simple press fit. If you can't find the SRAM 3 spring kit, apparently the same springs are used in Campy bar end shifters, and can be found on-line.

These are just the right thing for fixing my SRAM TT 500 bar end shifters on my recumbent. Now, the photo provided by the company is a bit misleading, since it shows all the parts, and they only send the springs, but if you need the springs, this is the ticket. Most of the time that will be the problem. So, good solution.

The springs fit and do their job. SRAM levers are the first ones with wear and tear in them. Price for 3 items made of less than 1 inch of steel wire (each), bent to a figure 9 shape, well it's phantastic - for one of the involved parties :-)
