I had SSK gloves growing up in Little League and wanted to share that experience with my 7yo son. He was resistant to trying the glove at first, but that is more about his personality and how he responds to change in general than the glove itself. The glove required very little break in to be ready to use. I hit with the mallet for a few minutes and applied some glove butter. Once I got him using it a few times, he became a lot more confident and his catch rate increased substantially. Seems like it will serve him well for at least a few years until his hands are big enough to start transitioning to a high end model for long term use

The price is awesome. This glove broke in very easily, and has held up for about 2 seasons and still in like new condition.Ended up recommending to other players on the team.

The thickness and quality of the leather for $30 beats out the Wilson, Rawlings, and Franklin gloves for $30. Needs little break in. My son was using it within hours. Great value!

This glove is a steal at under $40. It is better than some gloves I have seen that are $80-$100. Perfect for your 6-8 year old. My son loves his SSK. I have an SSK Z5 11.25 inch trapeeze infielder's glove and I love it. Mine was only $100. You do not need to spend $300 to get a quality glove no matter who says so. I put SSK's quality glove making up there with Wilson and the other top companies like Rawlings, Nakona, etc. To me it comes down to quality craftsmanship, feel, value.

I bought this for my son to use in little league. I bought him a $250 glove to replace it, but he still likes this one better. For the price you can't beat it. Would recommend to all.

This was a great upgrade for my seven year old who is moving up to travel ball. It does require some breaking in - a little warm water and a day or two of working it with a glove mallet and your ball player will be good to go.
