Work great! This is my second pair and I like the upper Bi-focal.

I was having difficulty focusing (or even seeing) anything through my scope when shooting wearing my prescription progressive lenses. So I tried wearing a pair of those drugstore cheater readers and this was exactly what I needed. Drugstore cheater readers are pretty flimsy, so I knew they would not last with prolonged use. With my progressive lenses, the magnification is at the bottom of each lens, with no magnification on the top, and this made it very uncomfortable when trying to contort my neck to be able to focus on the target, especially when shooting for a few hours. While shopping around for prescription shooting glasses I only found them as bifocals with the magnification on the bottom...until I came across these glasses. Whoever designed these bifocal lenses was using their brain. I tried these out and these glasses have the magnication exactly where it should be when aiming through a rifle scope...on the top. No more neck contortion.

I was having trouble seeing the iron sights and now have no problem seeing the top bifocal on dominant eye and slandered on in non dominant eye.. I tried to use the lower bifocal in the non dominant eye but ended up with a headache pretty quickly... So I either use the top bifocal or change glasses to adjust sights or close work on the range... Game changer.

The top focal are the only real solution for a shooter needing bifocals or progressives. I started out with a set of Wiley X and the RX insert which I had digitally shaped. Excellent product but just doesn't work for pistol shooting. The SSP's put the correction at the top of the lens allowing you to keep your head down. I opted for the Ultra kit that include both top and bottom bifocals. Use the tops for iron sights and the bottoms for red dots and general daily wear. You can also mix a top for your dominant eye and a bottom for your off eye. You can also mix a light lens on your dominant and a dark lens on the off eye. You can change lenses in seconds so experimenting with combinations is easyOnly improvement I would suggest is that , in the Ultra Kit, offer two strengths such as 1.5 tops paired with 2.0 bottoms. Most people need stronger bottom correction for non-shooting tasks like loading magazines or cleaningOverall very pleased. Have not seen iron sights this clearly in years.

I was all excited about this product from the first time I saw it. The idea seems very sound. I'm 63 now and my eyes are not what they were. Let me start off by saying I do hunt and shoot often and the sights on my guns are not that visible to me anymore. I have started waring just 1 contact in my dominant eye. This has given me close and distant vision now. Seems to work find for me. I was really looking forward to these glasses. What I noticed is they work pretty well shooting handguns. Not so well for rifles. Mind you I'm talking iron sights. No optics. You don't need these but for the safety glass part if you are using any optics on your handgun or rifle. Like I said they seem to work find for my with a handgun. I can see my site picture pretty good after I got used to these. For a rifle they just don't seem to work that well for me, but like I said the single contact in my dominant eye has the rifle covered. I only gave 3 stars because again I'm still working on getting used to using them with a handgun and they are no use to me with a rifle. The price is pretty good so if you need some help with seeing your sights it's worth it to try them. They may be wonderful for someone else. I hope they are because when your eyes start to give you problems, any little bit of help is great.

These are great glasses when applied properly. The bifocal panel corrects for close objects as advertised, but is perfect only if you are using iron sights where your eye should focus on the front sight. Be sure to buy glasses with the right correction for the distance from your eye to the front sight. You will likely need a smaller correction than traditional reading glasses because you hold printed material closer to your eye than the distance to the front sight.I don't use them when I shoot with my red dot sight because my eye needs to focus on the target not the front sight. If I do wear them, I have to cock my head back and look through the uncorrected part of the lens. That is not a great shooting position.

I'm not an ophthalmologist so maybe put this in the category of "don't try this at home" or "use your own best judgment". I purchased the top bifocal kit with hopes of being able to see my front sight well. Well, it was awful. I called SSP and they suggested a stronger bifocal - still bad. I just happened to put the SSP glasses over my normal glasses, I actually thought it was going to be even worse - how bad can I make it, was what I was thinking, but my front sight came into tack-sharp focus. My thought now is that you first have to correct for the astigmatism then the bifocal on the SSP can do its job. This is the part where you need to use your own judgment before proceeding: So what I did was glue a pair of old single vision lenses onto the SSP frames (back far enough that I can still swap the SSP lenses) with some epoxy. They now work great. They do take a little getting used to but my front sight is super sharp, I have wrap-around safety glasses and I was only out the $5 for the epoxy.

I used to laugh at people w reading glasses. Well, after 40 I started to need readers. The top reader is actually very functional for technical work. I am an HVAC tech by trade so I need to see electrical symbols and details in ceilings and tight spaces. Very handy when you can't back your head up to see something...

Not sure how they could make these better given the issue. I've been shooting IDPA in these for a year. Shoot, run, shoot more etc. They work perfectly during the shooting part and allow me to focus on the front site very well. They've allowed me to improve greatly and remain competitive as I've gotten older. While the magnification is perfectly placed for shooting, leaving them on is tough as it's like trying to talk to someone with reading glasses on. Everything beyond 3 feet is slightly out of focus. The solution is either swap your glasses for another pair when not shooting or tilt your head back a little. Not really a flaw just something you should know going in. As another reviewer said if you're in doubt go with the lighter magnification. I typically use 1.5 magnification but purchased these in 1.25 and they're perfect. 1.5 would be too much and would make it more difficult to focus on distant targets.
