I looked at quite a few churches before buying this one. The picture made it look cheap but the actual Church is really realistic. The patch of snow on the roof looks so much nice than the picture. It is larger than the little houses I have but it is a church and the building just looks proportionate.It does use a cord and I would have preferred just batteries but I still am very happy.!

Great piece to add to your village. I like that the "crosses" come separately which make it durable and easier to re-package.

I bought this for my Catholic dad to add to his Christmas collection and he really likes it. Really nice details esp for an Amazon purchase. He was tickled that the sign in front of the cathedral said "St. Mathews" which is the parish name he attends.

I've been collecting Lemax pieces for my Christmas village since 2000. This was a great addition as I now have a Catholic church and a Protestant one. The pieces on both do come off from handling, but they're easily fixed w a glue gun. This St. Matthew's Church is well made, and the Virgin Mary in the front adds a great detail. I was hoping there would also be a mall nativity like all Catholic churches have during advent, but I bought it separately.
