Learn how to easily add patterns and textures to create faux effects in your modelling projects. The how-to-create sets include detailed step-by-step instructions and accessories to get you started. This Wood-Effect kit comes with various shades of brown FIMO clay and modelling tools that allow you to create realistic looking wood patterns and textures. Mix the clay colours together to create a variety of tones and depth and use the brush and modelling stick to create grain-like strokes. Once your creation is perfected, simply bake in a conventional oven at 110°C for 30 minutes to set the polymer clay. When the clay has hardened and cooled down, you can then paint, varnish, drill or polish your creation. This set makes lovely coloured clay however it does not inlcude the findings (jewellery bits to turn it into jewllery). Also only photographs to follow, no words which are a little difficult to interpret. This isn't a suitable set for young children as the clay is hard to work/knead - both I and my hubby struggled to warm this clay up so that it could be used for making jewellery. The clay has to be well worked or else it will crack once in the oven. Having said that if you have the time to spend on working it then it is worth while as the jewellery is really beautifu. I have tried it twice now and the clay pattern and colours have turned out completely different. It didn't land up looking like the pictures at all despite following the step by step approach. Despite that the jewellery once made are beautiful.

On the face of it, this seems like a good little starter box to make some jewellry, but the instructions are just photos, no words, and there isn’t enough detail in the photos. The clay provided is true to colour, and I suppose it’s decent value for money, but be aware you should probably research how to make an abalone design online and not rely on the provided instructions

This was such a deceiving photograph. The jewellery findings were not included now were the clay cutting shapes. I wouldnt have bought this had I known it was just 4 half sized clays and one knife and a plastic straw. Very disappointing.

I bought this thinking that you would be shown how to make what was pictured. No it appears that this is just ideas. How to get the wood effect was on a hard to follow video and the result was nice but not wood like. I felt too dark. I have however had fun making jewellery out of this kit.
