Just got it today. So far it seems like a fine starter mandolin. The drawback at this point is while it came pre-strung, the strings had obviously been on so long that they had rusted sure they touch the bridge, and one of the smaller strings broke at that spot when tuning. That was frustrating when I wanted to play it right away.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas and I am thrilled with it. I'm not a music expert, but the appearance and sound of this are wonderful. Very impressive, true tone, easy to tune. This model has features (like an adjustable bridge) that are usually only available on the very expensive models. Husband was thrilled—he's a musical guy and was pining to teach himself mandolin. You won't be unhappy with this. By the way, it was packed very well, shipped quickly. Nice deal. I'm satisfied. For technical info about this instrument, read some of the other reviews

so I got this same mandolin used and it is great for beginner as well for novice some people just dumb of course when you put brand new strings on it there gonna slip tune cause strings streach for a min any string player should know that (just go ahead and get nice strings mandolins have lot of tension so CHEAP STRINGS will snap) though all in all I'd sell my own grandmomma this very mandolin and I plan on buying this right here to cheaper then I payed at the store ive used it live and in studio and sounded bad ass ... awesome buy highly recommend

This is a fine-looking instrument and a good starter. The price was certainly right. The low G-string always sounded a little dull to my ear, but the D, A, and E strings were all pretty bright and alright. I kept it for about two months, learned a couple of things, and then traded up for something a little more resonant. But like I said, this works just fine for a beginner who may want to test his or her commitment before going in for something better.

Beautiful wood but the silver String Plate keeps falling off.

Don't waste your money on this mandolin. Not sure if I just got a lemon but the first time I tried tuning the E strings they snapped on me down in the tailpiece. I bought some new strings and restrung it. Got it into tune and thought it was all set. Next day I went to practice and the E strings had slipped out of tune to a C. Went to tune them and once again both my E strings snapped on me in the same spot. Before you say wait this guy doesn't know what he's doing, I've played guitar for about 6 years and violin for a year so I've had plenty of experience tuning and restringing instruments. Again, not sure if mine was a lemon but I literally threw it in the trash and bought myself a Loar.

Great Mandolin for its price. The sound is great and it looks like it's worth 3 times it's value. It's not perfect tough. It had a couple of little scratches and the painting was a little blur at a point. But I have no regrets and recommend it.

Clear sound. Good stuff. Cheap. I was expecting it to be on the s***tier side of things. But it wasn't.
