When ordering this and considering its price, my expectation was a well-made high-quality stainless-steel smoke enclosure with a handheld smoke blower. Reality is a bit different. The smoke enclosure does indeed look like it is made from stainless and glass, but the door latch is rickety, the bottom edges are sharp enough to cut, and there is absolutely no way to plug the hose into the base, where the smoke entrance hole is located, without the unit being elevated to keep the box level and the hose from squeezing shut. I ended up putting a couple of 2x4 blocks of wood on either side of the base to allow the box to stand flat and to allow the hose to attach without kinking. It bothers me that the product page shows the hose nicely exiting the base like there is no problem, which isn’t so. What were they thinking?I have no complaints about the handheld smoke blower device. Connect it to the box’s base (once you rig that up) and choose one of 4 different fine wood chip types included and place into the blower’s “chimney” and ignite with a flame. The blower is powered by 4 AA batteries which are included. Once the wood chips are lit, just press the blower power switch and watch the smoke chamber fill with smoke – it doesn’t take long.The concept is great, and it does smoke cheese, cocktails, or whatever you like. The smoke blower works just fine…it’s the box design that is lacking. These are a lot of words, but my pictures tell the story better. The instruction book shows a different dome-type glass smoke chamber which would have worked better. This smoker is just too costly for what you are getting.

The great thing about this smoking kit is that it not only allows you to smoke cocktails, but you can smoke meat, cheese, or anything you can fit into the box. The gun works really well to push the smoke into the box so that it takes less wood chips.This would make a great gift for the cocktail guru

This smoke enclosure “cocktail and food smoker” is very poorly designed. It is obvious they took two separate products, possibly from other manufacturers, and stuck them together in the same box without testing or even attempting to use their own product. In fact the instructions included, which are only for the smoke gun, show it with a completely different type of enclosure, not the one that it is included with.First of all the nozzle for the smoke gun barely fits into the gun, the threads are not the same dimension so you can barely get the nozzle attached. Then the rubber hose ends with a larger metal nozzle on the end which goes into a rubber grommet opening in the BOTTOM of the smoke box. The problem is you CANNOT stand the box up and have the hose in the bottom. The metal nozzle is 1” or more too large and lifts up the entire case. In doing so the rubber hose is crimped preventing the flow of most of the smoke into the chamber. If you remove the bottom grommet on the smoke case you can fit the entire head of the nozzle through the hole, but the rubber line is still crimped significantly. In addition you cannot easily remove the hose without lifting the entire case, with food or drink in side, and pull the hose out with the other hand without spilling anything. It is a nightmare and useless design. Yes, you can try to crack the door open just enough for the nozzle to fit, but guess what? Almost none of the smoke stays in the case.The case itself also cannot be touched unless you want it covered in fingerprints. They are very obvious on this polished chrome enclosure. They are also extremely hard to clean off, which is not a great presentation if that is what you are going for with this thing.The wood chips that are included are a minimal amount and, most importantly, have virtually no scent at all. Not anything like the quality cocktail smoking kit I got as a gift a year ago. These wood chips have different labels like apple and cherry, but they all ALMOST smell like just basic wood shavings from a pencil… and maybe not even that aromatic.This product is one of the most poorly designed and executed I’ve seen in the past year. It has potential, but the details are all wrong and major functional elements are missed. You are better off finding a better quality smoker than this product.

The build quality of all the pieces and parts is all pretty good. The smoker works pretty well, and I love the "smoker box", which has a great look to it, and would be great at home or at a bar / club. It includes some neat smoke flavors (albeit in small amounts, you'll need to buy more rather soon), and the whole setup is just fun to use.There are a few things that I'm not fond of, though. For one, the hose going in the smoker at the bottom is a real pain, and designing it so the hose attaches on the side or on the back really shouldn't be a huge engineering challenge.The other thing I'm not fond of is the fact the smoker takes AA batteries (ugh) instead of being rechargeable. Being rechargeable would be a huge benefit.Overall, I like the smoker kit, because it's really neat in concept, and as I said, made well and works well. But the hose on the bottom is really silly, and it's 2025, nothing should be powered by AA batteries anymore, seriously.

Firstly, talk about a conversation starter. This is a VERY sturdy and well build "smoker" box that has an attached firehose. Just put in the wood of your choice (I like apple or cherry), and fire away. In a few seconds you'll have the inside full of smoke, letting you control the amount without filling the room with smoke. Haven't tried it with any drinks yet (can't wait), but I can tell you it is AWESOME with pre-smoking a steak or chicken. Restaurant quality apparatus that I'm sure you can find even more uses for...
