This is a product that doesn’t even deserve to be sold on Amazon. Cheaply constructed, with loose screws on the handle that expose your hand to sharp edges & cut one’s hand when using to cut pastry Not even worth wasting my time, gas to return it Don’t buy!!

Whoa, this is bad! It's a "palm-sized" useless toy... maybe good for an kid's toy easy-bake oven but I wanted a real old-style wire pastry cutter. I’ve used it because I have nothing else (yet) but the handle screw loosens each time I "cut". Yup, it actually falls apart in my hand. Maybe real wire pastry cutters don't exist anymore but, IMO, this item is NOT worth getting even if you really really! want a wire pastry cutter (like I do). I'll keep looking.

Wire style is better than a blade, and the wires are well secured to the handle. Sturdy.

Two days after I bought this I found one at a garage sale for $0.50. It;s pretty much the same as this one except it has a little steel tab on one end of the handle to rest your thumb on and is very useful for ergonomically applying pressure (the one I got at the garage sale, not this one). Honestly we don't use a pastry blender too often but when we do, we reach for the one we got at the garage sale and this one will probably end up in our next garage sale. This one is good though. The blades are sturdy and so is the handle. The blades come to a pretty steep point so it will reach into the low points of smaller bowls just fine. But they honestly could have dressed it up a little with a few cents worth of better looking hardware. The handle is affixed with a standard hardware store nut. I like things that don't look like they were made in a post apocalyptic wasteland, so if I didn't find a better one at a garage sale, i probably would have replaced the hardware with something a little more subtle. But damn...I must be anal if I can turn a pastry blender review into two paragraphs. So for all intents and purposes, this thing will probably make you as happy as a pastry blender can.

Haven't used it yet, but it looks sturdy enough. My main problem is it isn't made in the USA as listed.. It's made in China.

This is very, very well made! I had a really crappy one with metal blades and a plastic handle. The last time I used it the blades popped out, and I guess they are made to pop out to make cleaning easier? They went back in but I did not like that poor design feature. So off to Amazon I went to find something better and upgrade from crappy kitchen utensils I have had for eons! Well I spied this little beauty and ordered it. It is a wooden handle with no thumb rest on the side like some have, I knew having a thumb rest would have bothered me. It appears there is a bolt that runs through the handle to secure the metal blades and there is a small nut on the end, which shows me this should last a long time! It's stainless steel and has a good hand feel and weight to it, the wooden handle is very comfortable. The wires are not spaced too far apart and it works really well when cutting butter or shortening into your dry mix. I use a silicone scraper to loosen up what sticks and work it into the dough I am making with ease. This is worth every penny and if I ever needed another for some odd reason I would buy it again!Disclaimer... I did NOT receive this item for free, or at a discount and this is my honest opinion!

A great little pastry blender! I searched and searched in stores for a pastry blender (doesn't anyone actually use them anymore? I guess not enough to warrant stocking in big box stores). I finally turned to Amazon, and I'm glad I did. This one looks just like my mom's that I grew up having in the kitchen, as opposed to the "modern" ones that appear to have stainless steel blades. This one has a really nice wood handle and it works well - I made biscuits within an hour of receiving it!
