This is a great (and safe) design for young puppies during the weaning process. They can’t fall to the bowl and drown; it’s a very safe design. And easy to clean in the dishwasher

The smallest babies will still clamber into the food tray, but this keeps them much cleaner than a regular pan feeder [when theyre able to eat "mash"- which is regular kibble, ground up into a powder via food processor, then mixed with just enough warm milk to make it soft and paste-like]It's easier to clean than a pan feeder, too.

I originally wanted this for a litter of kittens but it just didn't seem to work as well for them but the quality of the bowl is really nice...I just went back to using little metal shallow bowls...I was worried this would be harder for them to eat out of because it was a little deeper for them and they are so tiny.
