I installed this on a 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty 5.4L. The frame bolt was fine. The wire that went to to the block by the starter was too short. I ran it to an alternate location. Part is installed and is working fine.

Several people have complained about the length of the ground-to-frame being too short. Mine was the correct length. If you have a '97 - '03 F-150 standard cab with a 4.2L, your ground-to-frame cable should be 16 inches long. This cable comes with about 18 inches of length for that ground-to-frame. I'm not all that impressed with the cheap metal clamp and lugs and the brittle plastic coating. Your original neg cable is bundled with the positive and runs under the exhaust. You'd be wise to made sure there is no chance of this cheap cable deteriorating and arching in that bundle. I plan on wrapping each one separately and using the heat shield to hold them together to route along the original location.

Did not fit my 99 f250 superduty like it said it would. Mine grounds back by the starter on the block so no where near long enough. My fault for not looking at it first. Grounded it to frame and seems to work fine.

I was not able to get the Motorcraft cable set in a timely manor. I got the Standard positive cable which worked good. However this negative cable was pretty much a joke. Lets start with the good, the actual cable end that mounts on the battery. The rest has to be re routed and modified (lengthened) to work properly. Standard needs to review the lengths and correct this. If you do buy this cable be sure to get an extra foot of #12 black wire and some heat shrink connectors so the frame ground connection near the right upper control can be used in its factory location.

Too short for my 2001 Expedition with 5.4L. I had to splice in 8" of battery cable and ground, which defeats the purpose of ordering a "direct fit" part. I'll be making my own cable in the end to replace this for safety, so I may as well have done that in the first place. It would have saved the waste of time and money.

Direct fit replacement for a 2000 f150 rwd with the 4.2 v6. Negative battery cable with chassis and body grounding straps. Installation was plug and play on my truck. Amazon price was less then online part stores with 2 day shipping.
