On the left is the Standard Motor Product Switch and right is the GM OEM switch. While it will physically install and electrically connect where the OEM switch goes, it operates electrically opposite of the OEM switch so it won’t work. The OEM switch closes electrically as the plunger is pushed into the switch. The Standard Motor Products switch opens as the plunger is pushed into the switch. I didn’t figure this out until after the return period ended so I’m hoping others can learn from this post.
