This switch backfeeds power back through the external ground wire thus blowing the fuse, you can not bypass the ground wire because once you mount the switch to the metal dash it blows the fuse as well, look elsewhere for something of better quality

Very disappointed after being so hopeful. Wired this switch exactly as directed by the 1975 Ford shop manual, and by the way, it was an exact match to the way the old switch was wired on the vehicle.
