Lasted approx 6 months and 80 miles before it failed. Tried cleaning it out, blowing air into it, even banging it on the bench…. Switch failed and doesn’t work. No continuity

This worked perfectly. Unfortunately, my sensor was not bad.. ;-{ .. For Vintage VW Beetle Peeps, when the oil gets hot and your light starts flickering (and ER brake light as well) when the car gets to temperature after 15-20min, it's because the oil gets hot, and thins out, and the pump looses pressure because the "thinner / hotter" oil more easily skirts by the pump's impeller. It's still pumping and circulating and working effectively,, it's just not maintaining the pressure due to heat and viscosity. It's not "really" a problem, not critical, just an annoyance because you're not used to an idiot light illuminating on your dash. It's disconcerting, but not an issue. It really come down to,, do you want to invest in replacing the pump with another that MIGHT have better efficiency to maintain pressure while hot? Recall, the reason for the sensor is to warn you when the pressure cavitates. A "real" problem happens at ANY rpm, not just at idle when hot.. PEACE-OUT!!
