Works great.Yes it did make a burning smell for few minutes, but i knew to expect it. After that its been working fine for a few weeks now.

This is a replacement for the original blower motor resistor in a 1990 Toyota Pickup SR5 with the 3VZE. My fan worked in two speeds - off and high; replacing this part made that little fan speed knob on the dash fully functional. Installation was simple on my rig, two screws removed (just follow the fan wire in the passenger footwell to the connector), one plug unplugged from the original and plugged back into this amazing piece of engineering and the two screws reinstalled. There was a smell of a hot connection at each speed for about five minutes - this resistor pack is in the ventilation air stream, so all that delicious break-in smell was blown out the vents and into the cab. After the break in period the smell went away, but the full functionality of my fan speed switch remained. Paint me a happy camper!

Works fine, however it smells (like something burning) when the blower is at any speed other than full. To be fair I'm not sure if the small is from the blower or the resistor but my guess is that it's the resistor.

Part looks identical to OEM part. Now have all 4 speeds on the fan (first 3 went out). Little bit of burning smell, but these coils get pretty hot, so I am waiting for the part to burn in. Pic is where the old part was.
