Bought this part to remove the P0403 EGR Circuit A code on my '03 ford escape V6 and it didn't do it. I removed the old one, installed new one, cleared the code, then started it. It came back after 2 minutes of idling. Drove it for 5 miles after that and nothing happened. Not sure how to remove this code since ive replaced this sensor TWICE! Once with this one and the second with a Dorman. Might have to legitimately go to OEM and spend a crap ton of money on a tiny $20 sensor.

Installing this EVR solenoid would be a two minute job but I needed to drill out the right side brass bushing that clips over the bracket. The hole was to small. The stud fit through the left side just fine and I tightened the 8mm nut to hold the solenoid in place. So far it appears to be working well. No rough stumble at idle. The box said made in Taiwan so time will tell if the part is quality.

Got this for my 2003 Ford explorer 4.0l after get code P0401 I changed plenty of parts and this seemed to fix the issue!! Which was a rough idle and stalling..... The mounting holes wasn't the same as factory and was little tough putting on since one of the factory holes is elongated to fit bracket

99 explorer. It was exactly right and fixed my leak. Vehicle no longer has check engine light. Put 1,000 on it before I wrote this review. Buy from Amazon!!! Dealer “can’t get these” anymore.

I usually only purchase Motorcraft parts for my Fords but they no longer carry an EGR Vacuum Solenoid for my 2002 Explorer. I have used Standard Motor Products in the past so I didn't hesitate to buy this one (never waste your money Standard's cheap Chinese "T" series, they are junk). The solenoid looked exactly like the OEM original that had gone bad and once installed it cured my rough idle problem. SMP's are good parts as long as you avoid their part numbers that end in "T"
