If drywall is attached to the attic ladder plywood door, do NOT use 36-80. Use struts 36-81 since it has a higher PSI rating to lift the heavier door. This might seem daunting, but with a little help from YouTube, I was able to install this myself with help from a family member who opened and closed the attic door for me during the install process. Pick a competent (and ideally tall) helper in your household.
