Used these for litter in a puppy pen litter box. The grassy smell was nice. However, they disintegrated faster when wet with urine than the pine pellets I usually buy. The chlorophyll in the pellets stained my pups’ feet. I should have realized the pups would eventually get “grass” stains on themselves. It’s horse feed...no harm, no foul.

I purchased this nearly a year ago for my Leopard Tortoise. He gets a handful reconstituted every day along with supplemental veggies from our kitchen cooking. He is growing very well and the shell deformation from excess nutrition has stopped (As a conscientious pet owner I was giving food that was "too good" for his needs - they live on grass with low nutrients in the wild) progressing. It's very inexpensive way to maintain the health of my pet and at a handful from this 40 lb bag per day, it lasts a LONG time!

Okay. I don't own a horse. I own two rabbits...40 pounds of pellets may seem like an awful lot of pellets for just two rabbits and paying approximately 1 dollar per pound may seem like it's too much, but this is way more economical than buying pellets from your local petstore or buying smaller quantities that are packaged for rabbits. If you buy in quantity, you will save a boatload over standard petstore sizes. And--an extra bonus--these pellets are pure Timothy Hay. There are no added fillers, binders, alfalfa, nuts, seeds, etc. Just pure Timothy Hay, which is what your rabbits are really supposed to eat.I cannot speak to those who are breeding rabbits for other purposes and might want to fatten them up some. In fact, us house rabbit owners really don't want to think about those kinds of things... But if you are trying to fatten up your rabbits, these are probably not the pellets you want. They also may not have enough in the way of extra nutrients for baby rabbits. That said, they are great for adult, house rabbits and do not lead to rabbit obesity. Your rabbits will need actual hay as well and also some veggies. You may want to invest in a salt lick, too, as these are not all that high in salt.Realize that these pellets are pressed out of pure Timothy Hay, so there will be some dust formed by broken down pellets. I am careful to feed the rabbits the whole pellets and discard the dust (which mostly settles to the bottom of the bag after shipping), as I don't want them inhaling the dust. Also note, that your rabbits may not initially be extatic about switching from the grocery-store, junk-food pellets to these pellets. When I first mixed these in with the junk-food pellets, the rabbits pretty much ate around the pure timothy hay ones. (Lets face it, if you mixed my Quinoa with M&Ms, I'd probably pick out the M&Ms too... but once they get used to these pellets, it's all good.

One of my rabbits refuses to eat this. She literally ate cat food instead of this, had to buy other food.

I ordered this for my 70 pound tortoise. He was eating through his Timothy hay too quickly. These pellets are more for the money. It's not his favorite food, but this is the fiber he needs and he does well with it.
