Easy to take off the original cover with the provided clay. Just make sure you press the clay on and massage it on the button, then pull fast like you are removing a bandaid from a child's arm. The new button did not go on well at first. I had to take it off and do it again. It is still a little tight when pressing. I am still giving it 5 stars because I am sure I did something wrong when applying the new button cover.Overall, if you are concerned that you will mess up, don't be. The worst that could happen is the button does not come off the first time. Just try again.

This product is fantastic. It didnt mention the F25 chassis on the description but hoped the 'etc' on the description covered it. It did. Fit my BMW X3 2013 perfectly. As other reviewers have said, you dont need tools, all you need is the putty. HOWEVER, a couple tips with the putty - 1) make sure you take off as much of the flaking black cover on the old button first, otherwise the putty just yanks that off and leaves the button. 2) Make sure and leave the putty on for about 1 minute. If you dont and yank it immediately, it just comes off. It was so easy when I did that and popped right off. Replacement looks better than the original.

I purchased the Matte Black. Easy to install, looks great and fits perfectly on my 2013 535i. Used a small flat head screwdriver to remove original button.

Wow, I was timid because it looked a bit smaller than the original. I started a return but came back and read the review and thought I'd give it a chance. Thank goodness for the person who commented to leave the putty on a bit and give it a good yank to remove it. Worked like a charm on my 2/F22. I left it on for several minutes while I made a call. Then I gave it a good yank and it popped right off. The old one was the exact size, actually. It fit right in the grooves and works perfectly. So nice. Hope they have something for my trunk lever. :)

This button was a perfect fit for my 2019 BMW F23 with OFF switch. Even though the application fitment did not include the F23 in the description. I took a chance and it was a good bet. The installation is far easier if you remove the switch from the dash, separate the switch components and then pop the start/stop button into place. It really only takes about 5 minutes to get a fully upgraded switch installed. There is less chance of breaking something if you take the whole switch assembly OUT of the dash panel. There are many videos that will show the simplicity of the process. NOW I have a fully upgraded spare when or if I need it.

Had to buy stronger putty from a hardware store, but once I got the old one out it fit well and looks good. Great for the price.
